Master Deke mentoring his young grasshopper. I'm glad Deke is on the Rockets, and prefer to see him be a mentor over Patrick. He geniunely cheers on when Yao plays well and continue to encourage him. Go Deke!

Yao : Hey Tay, anytime you wanna make a good run at a championship, you know where to go.

Tayshawn: Hell yeah let me try to stir some trouble and get out of that contract. I always wanted to play along side with a "real" big fella.

I was just reading this thread and a couple of their fans asked the same thing I thought of...

Why didn't they put Maxiell in the game?

I have seen who wins the match up between Max and Chuck in college... but I would have liked to see it in this game at a new level (I don't remember them playing one against one another last season - was JMax on the bench then too?). I think between Max and Juwan... which would have been the more likely set up in the second quarter... would have been an inside advantage to the Pistons. Just beacuse Max is a bang around guy like Chuck inside and Juwan is a little less so. Juwan would be able to pull him more out of the paint though, so that might have been an advantage to us.

I also think its funny that they say the same think about Chauncey as I have heard said here on this board. "WE WILL NOT WIN ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP WITH ___insert name here___ AS THE STARTING POINT GUARD!"

Though we don't have the stomp on the opponents throat mentality, at least we are getting to the point where I trust that someone will make a big play at the end to save the game. Which is important as well.

    :)

Ya but Cato was a servicable power forward for us. Yao said with him and Cato defending the lane it made it nearly impossible for other to penetrate.

Somethings have not changed since 2004. We still need a Power Forward. Juwan is ok, but not the big time Power Forward that we need.

Jan. 3, 2004 - Cato scored 11 points, pulled down a season-high 15 rebounds and blocked four shots to help lead the Rockets to a convincing 84-63 victory over the Utah Jazz. "My conditioning is getting better," Cato said following the game. "I got in better condition this summer when we got a new coach."

One of the most obvioius needs of the Rockets this offseason is to upgrade the power forward spot with more offensive production. Cato did everything asked of him in 2003-04.

OK, I admit the Pistons weren't looking forward to the Spurs. They just aren't playing well. Very very bad start for them tonight.

Pistons come back and take a 2 point lead at half time aginst the Spurs.Looks like we are not the only one who has trouble holding a big lead.

I am watching this game through the mms link, and at one point during the second quater the pistons network list a poll something like :which team is your least favorite to play in the west if the pistons make to the finals?I am surprised that they list Houston instead Utah along with the big 3 as their choices. It seems we are no longer the underdog.

The spurs went up 27-16 after the first quarter, they barely held on in the 4th quarter to win by a point. They were worse than the Rockets were in the 4th quarter at holding on to the lead.

Spurs looked like they wanted to give the game away. Rip missing 2 late free throws that would've had a major impact on the outcome.

We cannot play as we played last night. This collapse in 4th quarter is happening bit too much. Ex: Last game against Clippers where we almost lost, when they took lead, late in 4th quoter.

I was very impressed with the way we played on the beginning. Lets be honest, we were lucky on the start of the game to have 16-2 lead. I was thanks to defense and poor shooting. 14% Shooting, first 6 minutes. ;)

    Looking forward to playoffs.
