i loved that code. level 9.... you guys ever play the first one on the nes? that one was harder than #2 (the arcade version)
Dude....the only thing I remember liking about part 1 was driving around in the pizza van thing. The game was too RPGish for me. Part 2 rocked though. I cant believe I still remember that code!
that was the most repetitive song ever.... also, if I danced like that in a club today, even Carlton would kick me out. haha, the first TMNT game, hardest game ever.... TMNT 2 was awesome, I thought it was funny there was a "free pizza coupon" along with it. TMNT 3 I beat the game like 2 days. Tournament Fighters was "ok". Im going to try to catch it after work tonight.
Just got back from seeing it as well. Totally unexpected storyline. I thought it would carry on with the TMNT vs shredder but this was a good change. NOt much information on their origin so you're expected to know how they came about for the most part. Good acting in my opinion and the animation is pretty strong. There were some fairly big names doing the voices though. I don't want to state it because sometimes when I know who does the voices other characters start to pop into my head. After seeing this, I kind of wish they would have done transformers in animation.
The "additional voices" section of the credits was practically a collection of modern animation voice acting royalty. Phil Lamarr, Tara Strong, Jim Cummings... great, great voice work. As for the film, I saw it today and would definitely recommend it to anyone, if only for that badass scene where the turltes, April, Casey, and Splinter all take on the Foot Clan as one. One of the most badass animated fight scenes I've ever seen (Hell, the fight imagery/cinematography throughout the entire film was just awesome). Only gripe is that i wish it was a little bit longer. Hopefully if this film succeeds well it'll put an end to that campy TMNT: Fast Forward crap 4kids is running now and bring back the darker and grittier original 2k3 series.
Yeah I wish it was longer. I especially liked the scene Spoiler between Raph and Leonardo. That was a pretty good fight scene as well. You think Leo let raph win to let him realize the errors of his way?
Spoiler That's how I see it. I mean, honestly, in every real incaration of the turtles (comics, 2k3 series), Leo is definitely the better fighter of the two. I think it was a culmination of his "leadersip training" that he figured out how to fix things with Raph. (It should be said that Leo's the better fighter mostly because of his dedication to training. It's also a recurring theme in TMNT storylines that Mikey has the most innate athletic/fighting ability out of the four, but just doesn't apply himself.)
I think this is one that I will wait to see on video. My girlfriend and I did go see Dead Silence tonight, though (I don't feel like I should start a new thread for this...sorry), and she ended up getting really scared. In fact, she was freaked out by time we left the movies. She's got a thing against dolls and clowns and stuff.
I just saw the movie at the Drafthouse on Lamar here in Austin. The movie itself was great and I got to take a picture of a life-sized model of the TMNT van from the animated series. The 10-year-old in me enjoyed the hell out of it. I'd definitely recommend this movie to anyone. It's not going to win an Oscar but it's a good film nonetheless.
saw the 950 showing at Westchase Tinseltown, awesome movie, not much action, but at least a good storyline to it. Would recommend it to anybody. The scene in the rain was absolute stunning. I loved the camera angles in this film, if only they could do that in a live action movie. Also loved the symbolism all over the movie. Good reference of the previous 3 movies if you catch it. Spoiler The scene with Leo/Raphael was phenomenal. The rain drops, and even the fighting sequence is one of the best I've seen. Loved the symbolism where he realized that Leonardo is better than him. I kinda didn't like how they did drag that out up until almost the end of the movie. Btw, nice homage to the previous 3 movies at the end, with the TGRI tube, the time portal antique, and Shredder's mask.
It seemed like they changed a bunch of things from the cartoons. I always thought April was a news reporter.
According to Wikipedia, in the cartoon series, looks like she was trained by Splinter and became a specialist with Katana Swords ala Leonardo. It also mirrored her "scientist background" in which explains her going to South America and knowledge of the 3000 year old myth and whatnot. Plus i gotta find this episode from the new series thats pretty funny
worst movie ever......splinter voice ruined it. mike was annoying. april can fight? casy jones was a p***y jay leno look alike

Worst Movie Ever? That should probably tell anyone what they need to know about your opinion on this matter.
Actually, everything in the film closely followed the newer animated series that began in 2003 (and essentially ended with the horrible 2006 revamp), which is more true to TMNT's darker comic origins. The annoyingly campy 1987 series (though enjoyable when we were little) is the one that's generally out of continuity with all things TMNT. (The overall immaturity, Bebop, rocksteady, Krang, April as a news reporter, Shredder not being killed early on) I thought Mako (in his final voice acting performance before passing away) was great as Splinter, almost as good as his role as Iroh on Avatar: The Last Airbender. His voice just has the cool and unique quality of conveying wisdom. April fighting is nothing new in TMNT. Only in the old cartoon was she just a helpless damsel in distress. In most everything else (save for the old films, that had to connect a little with the series) she's a student of Splinter in the use of kitanas.
