Don't know if this has been posted. Mods please lock it if it has. I just checked the Rockets TV schedule and found that ESPN has added Rockets @ Lakers game on March 30th. This means that we will be enjoying the Rockets' entire LA trip on ESPN-HD. I guess this is to make up the 3 Sunday games (Magic, 76ers and Hornets) they dropped on us. By the way, Rockets always have good winning percentage (6 wins 1 loss so far this season) when their games are broadcasted on ESPN (I hate Rockets on TNT because the 3 games they did on Rockets this seasons were ugly and we also had to endure the badmouthing of Barkley). I hope Jon Barry is there commentating on both games and Rockets-ESPN's good luck continues.
Yeah I was glad when I found out about this because cutting 3 Sunday national games (2 ABC) is outrageous. Plus, I wanna see T-Mac vs Kobe on ESPN. That will be something spectacular to watch.
sweet i will be at the clippers game, hopefully/possibly at the lakers game but if not at least i'll see them in HD.
Yea this is going to be a great game to watch. But Kobe has been lighting it up lately, 65, 50, and 60 the last 3 games. I hope that doesn't continue againt the Rockets. T-mac needs to start dropping his shots and get with Kobe.
btw, this will be the last viewing party over at Wings N' Things over at the Marquee, will be zooming down there after work.
yeah, competing with current kobe, error margin is very small. Grizzle's has 55% FG Gasol 35/15, miller 33/7ast failed to overcome 60pts from kobe.
not to discredit kobe whatsoever, scoring 60 point much less 50+ 3 games in a row is amazing. but i would say that the grizzles are probably the worst defensive team in the league and that they are actively trying to lose games to get that high pick. but yet the lakers won by 2, a close victory but still a victory. kobe may just score 60 points on the rockets, heck he came close last time with 53 or something in the double OT game but if he scores 60 it will not be on 20-37 shooting thats for sure. no one can stop him but battier will make him work hard for his shots, kobe will make some crazy ones because he is that damn good. my roomate is a lakers fan (i live in la) and he was happy kobe scored a lot and was upset he should have done that earlier but he even said that it doesnt bode well for the them if kobe has to score that many points to barely beat the worst team in the league, road game or home.
Rox is one of the best defensive teams, there is no chance for K24 to get 50+ pts IMO, except all his teammates never take any shots but K24 takes 50+ shots.
good news is that they picked up this game, bad news is that it looks like the this is the last regular season rocket game in HD. the schedule shows that the kings game is on nbatv hd but i dont know anyone who gets that. i thought i received that channel through dish network since i subscribe to their sports package and league pass (there is a nbahd channel but its always off air) either way bummer unless someone picks up a game. the thing that SHOCKS me is that there will be no regular season game on abc this year. they'll show crappy teams like the kings or the heat constantly (before their recent winning streak) but will drop 2 pretty entertaining rocket games for the previous teams. i dont care at all for the espn/abc broadcasters (cept for mike breen and hubie brown. the thing i dont get is that yeah we dont play "pretty" basketball but neither do the pistons or the spurs but yet they are on a lot. the same with the bulls. i would like to think we have two of the more globally recognizable stars of the league on this team too. hopefully a playoff series victory or 4 this postseason will change their minds. (dont care for the broadcasters but love the HD cameras)
I'm Sure Kobe may get 50, but they'll lose by 20. He's gone off the last few games but all of them were very close games against teams out of the playoffs like the Grizz, Minn and Portland. None of those teams have a chance to make the playoffs and none are considered defensive teams. I think his scoring run is amazing, but I'd rather be beating the Pistons by double figures then scraping by the Grizzlies with T-Mac scoring 50.
