It's easy to be competitive when you can dominate the game (and get the calls). Jordan, however, has been away from the game and is older. Like Monica Seles (tennis), you cannot step away from the game, at this level, and expect to return and dominate.

Personally, I want to see him return and embarass himself on the court.

He is not/will not be a top ten player. Washington will not be an instant playoff team because of his return.

    Charlotte
    Indiana
    Milwaukee
    NY
    Orlando
    Philadelphia
    Toronto
    Memphis/Atlanta

University (Waiting for the next fax.) Blue

does everyone think mj is going to look as slow and akward as ewing does now? you guys make it sound like he is going to be out there with a walker with little tennis balls attached to the bottom for traction control. cmon this IS jordan, yes he is old, yes he has been away for awhile, but he is not stupid(although a little too prideful) he isn't going to play to look bad, he above everyone else knows if he can play or not. He's been playing against guys like finley, hardaway(penny), and others with success. and don't forget, he's going to play in the east! what great defensive players do they have in the east besides a mutombo looming in the middle, or mcgrady trying to guard him? nobody can stop his turnaround, he still is a great passer, plays good(not great)defense(so he says), and is stronger than most guys that will guard him, and don't forget: he was one of the smartest guys in basketball, not just about the game itself, but controlling the refs, and intimidating others while instilling confidence in his own teamates. MJ is going to do well, hell, can anyone tell me of any team in the NBA that wouldn't start Jordan regardless of who is SF or SG?

Well Cuban Might Know Something We Don't

The Chicago workouts were very Hush-Hush....but who was there but Chicago native and current Maverick Michael Finley. Though the players were sworn to secrecy, i'm sure Finley told basketball buff Cuban about his progress and that influenced his comment.

    hmmm....

Jordan will intimidate a lot of the players who have played against him and lost on a regular basis.

That's why his in the top 10 for punking players. He will get in their head and mess their game up. They will try to out duel Jordan by scoring more and mess up their team chemistry.

anyone else see the live press conference today with MJ? At one point he was basically saying he knows that everyone is going to gun for him because of who he is. His voice started getting a little harsher as he was saying that the media thinks guys like kobe and mcgrady are going to go at him and make him look bad. Next he said something like I'm going to bring it at them too...lol, it sounded like he wanted to say bring it on, I'm ready for you! Sure he's old, but he's not going to dominated by anyone in the league, especially with the lifting of the no hand checking rule. Jordan was great at "hands on" defense. Its hard to drive by him when he's got a big paw on your hip and I'm sure that would give guys like mobes a tougher time when he tries to make his step, thats if Jordan can catch him before he makes his move! ;)

    Good points srf.

Not to mention, he is still probably one of the strongest guards in the league.

I've seen a lot of him the last few days and the only thing that's gonna stop him is an injury. He isn't exploding like a 20 year old, but it doesn't matter, he's got the elevation on his shots. Which makes him all but unstoppable.
