I like this trade... It's better than getting retreads in Plummer and Garcia for sure. This also frees up our #1 for a positional player; plus, I believe we can still get Kolb in the 4th, just in case.

A nice breakdown of the value (found it on another message board):

Another way of looking at who got the better end of the deal would be to look at the draft pick value chart. Schaub was a RFA if Houston had tried to sign him they would have had to give up a 1st and a 3rd round choice for him. So assuming mid-round values the 15th pick in the 1st round is worth 1050 points and the 15th pick in the 3rd round is worth 195 points or a total of 1245 points.

Of course Houston's picks were better than that so their actual 1st and 3rd were worth about 1900 points.

What did they actually pay for Schaub? Switch 1st rounders - worth 200 points, their 2nd rounder this year worth 480 points, and their 2nd rounder next year (worth one later round, i.e. 3rd rounder) worth 220 points = 900 points.

They gave up 900 points for Schaub - way less than their 1st and 3rd this year and the equivalent of the 18th pick in the 1st round this year.

Now who knows how Schaub will turn out - but he is about the hottest in the NFL qb prospect that's available - so all in all I'd say Houston paid a fair price. Certainly less than if they'd signed him as a RFA.

Culpepper has the single season completion percentage record - 73.6%. I couldn't find who has the career completion percentage record.

Bob Allen just said press conference tomorrow morning at Reliant, and that Schaub and his family arrived in town tonight.

    Well, so much for Kolb.

    Welcome to the Cowboys, Kevin.

I think Schaub will do very well.

I seriously hope, for the sake of our receivers that his eyes aren't normally crossed like that.

Kidding aside, I hope we found a gem.

When you suck, you have to gamble. We suck. We have to gamble.

The way I see it, we basically drafted a QB (Schaub) in the 2nd round. IMO "drafting" a guy who has been in the NFL (albeit as a backup) for a couple of years in the 2nd round is better than drafting a rookie QB with no experience in the NFL in the 1st round.

And like some others have said, since we don't have to use our #1 on Quinn, it's just like....it's just like.....getting another 1st round pick.

Honestly, I think we'll either go with Levi Brown or Ted Ginn, Jr. with number 10. I don't see us going defense just because Kubiak and Smith will want to stockpile talent around Schaub and our offense more than ever, as they don't want a mistake to be their responsibility.

Man how sweet would it be if A.P was there at #10. I know it wont happen but that would be one hell of an offseason.
