Maybe because Kobe just had a new jersey with #24 ?

and Iverson has a new jersey with Denver?

I guess everyone has the yao one already. No point in buying two so they buy another stars jersey

most dudes in china aren't 7 ft tall. they can probably relate to being a guard who ball hogs the ball and takes fadeaway jumpers.

Yao gets the home country All-Star vote boost, sure. Should be an indication that ALL NBA players benefit and its not just All-Yao all the time

ya and like that guy said they all have yao's already. he was probably their top selling jersey for awhile even before he went to the NBA.

not a big surprise, he did change his number. if yao or tracy changed their number the distance between them and the 2nd best seller would be so wide it's not even funny.

Yeah both Kobe and Iverson had new jerseys so obviously the sales are higher.

Even before they changed numbers or teams, Yao's jersey was never number one selling in China. I believe it's always AI, simply because he gives 110% every game, and throws his relatively smaller body around fearlessly. Chinese people just love that spirit.

I am guessing they all have Yao's and McGrady's already (two guys who've had the same jersey for over three years now).

Kobe and AI, on the other hand, have new jerseys.

Not too big of a deal...

More than 400 million NBA products were sold in over 20,000 retail locations throughout China and retail sales this year are expected to increase by more than 50%.

Wow, i'm sure that has to do with Yao..

wait till Yao won a championship. I'm sure everyone would want to grab a Yao Jersey as the Finals' MVP and NBA champ

you'd think that would help yao with the refs the way the nba works, and yet somehow it doesn't.

Not all chinese like or support yao... there are a lot chinese yao haters as well. Been to china a few times, most people i talked to, said they prefer kobe or AI maybe is the size that matters....

Like it or not, but Kobe is the most popular player in China, not Yao.
