Yep, same thing, very bad. Which is a heck of a point ! See Meowgi, this is how honest discourse is done, Mr Clutch has made a very good point against poison in a tuna can. I would have to say that the person putting the can and the poison together would be responsible for both the death of a cat, or any other animal or human that ingested the tuna. Best point in the thread against poisoning so far. DD
This thread has been, *ahem*, interesting to say the least. I'm a little surprised that it hasn't been locked.
DaDa, I think you can get some wolf/cayote urine to put in your yard that will scare away meowgis cats. check the natural gardener in austin. Yes, poisoning would get you in trouble. If you really want to be mean, tell the hoa.
I have done the wolf poison stuff for the armidillo it doesn't work for anything..... I am just going to keep shooing them away..... The HOA is all over this issue already here in Circle C, and no, I did not tell them nor complain. DD
I can not believe there is a serious discussion about pet killing, that is just awful. Killing someone's pet? Really? Killing a cat because it likes to sleep on a swing? Poisoining a helpless creature with antifreeze? Freaking psychos.
strange that da dakota lives in the allergy capital of the world yet blames his kids sniffles on cats sleeping on pillows he leaves outside(?) on his lawn furniture. that is the dumbest thing i have ever read, well besides some of your posts in the garm.
I think it's kind of funny that some people here are getting so bent out of shape over killing animals. It happens everyday and besides maybe the last 100 years, everybody did it themselves on a very regular if not daily basis. I am not in any way advocating killing pets but give me a break. I guess growing up hunting makes me not so sensitive to it.
Well, being as that I have had everyone tested, it is the cat dander that is the biggest issue by far, but not the only one. And read the thread, I am not killing anything, just wondering why people are being irresponsible with their pets. Isn't it the owners responsibility to keep the pet safe? Letting it roam around outside is not doing that....keep your pets to yourself.... DD
The notion of killing a pet has the added bonus of really destroying the children and adults who might love the pet. They let their beloved kitty outside? Cool - killing their pet will teach them. They deserve it. So does that stupid cat, who wants to nap in an outdoor swing. Stupid cat. Stupid people. My killing will show them all! Because as aceshigh so heartfully described in the Magic Johnson thread: when you are convinced someone is behaving irresponsibly, something needs to die. Why stop at the cat? The owner is the problem. Plus, they might get a another cat to replace the one you killed. Do you know how expensive antifreeze is? VERY. I would poison the owner too to definitively fix the problem. By the way, i absolutely agree with responsible pet ownership, and keeping cats inside. I just think that bandying around the legal and practical aspects of murdering a helpless creature because you find them annoying reflects very poorly on the people who discuss it with no moral second thoughts.
Okay.. there's common ground here.... DaDakota doesn't insist that the cat be killed. In fact, all he wants is for the cat to not roam in places where it shouldn't be. THAT's the beauty of Animal Control. You don't kill the cat. You capture it in a humane trap. Then animal control comes and picks it up and they decide what to do with it. The cat might get adopted. Or the cat might get picked up by its owners (who would then have to pay a fine). The cat may be relocated. Or, the cat may be euthanized. Now, if Meowgi doesn't like that, that's fine. He is free to go down to animal control and take it up with them. Honestly, I'm sure DD couldn't care less about where the cat goes, as long as it's not on his property.
