i liked this quote from stephen a. smith's column in the philly inquirer. http://www.philly.com/philly/hp/spo...ixers_lose_by_50_-_and_it_may_get_uglier.html "Please don't put my name to this quote," another Rockets player said. "But damn! They broke the code. Everyone knows you could be playing in the park and if someone is running it up you say, 'Yo! Enough's enough.' " I really am surprised why the sixers didn't start taking some harder fouls but oh well.
I felt so giddy after this unbelievable game that I spent the rest of the day reading other teams' forums to find out what they had to say about the massacre. I'm pretty sure it wasn't rafer or snyder who said that because stephen a. already quoted them earlier.....and in the quote i posted stephen said "another rockets player". my guess is battier, with his duke education and all, he knows when to allow to be quoted or not.
I think it's JLIII. Battier doesn't seem to be a playground baller. JLIII spent his middle school years there and has said he spent alot of time in the Philly playgrounds.
My favorite quote from the Philly board: We just beat Utah the game before, lol. We're Houston's biyatch,no debating that. Thanks Brock & Ergo.
Interesting, Houston Rockets are actually the record holder in NBA of the largest margin of defeat at home. According to Elias Sports Bureau (special contributor to ESPN Insider), "the largest margin of victory by a visiting team was 56 points by the Sonics in a 136-80 victory against the Rockets in 1986." That was during the Ralph Sampson era: http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/HOU19861206.html
SAS's article was pretty vicious. I don't read him often so maybe that's par for the course between him and Sixers management. I didn't watch it, but I remember waking up the next day and reading the Chronicle's article on that Rockers/Sonics game.
I sense FEAR! Tonight we dine in Wachovia Center! V-span=greek=greece=sparta=300 V-span=sixth man=6 300/6=50!!!!
