Check out Juwan's stats over the last 5 games.

The veteran PF is averaging 12.4 points on 77 percent shooting
Chuck Hayes is playing extremely well as the starter now that Yao is back, abd a lot of us thought that the return of Yao would severely limit Juwan's role, but he just keeps on producing when given the chance.

What a great year he is having for us. I know he has a lot of short comings particularly on defense, but his effecient scoring has been exactly what we needed all year.

I know a lot of experts don't believe we have a deep enough bench to contend with the Mavs and Spurs, but with Luther, Juwan, and hopfully a healthy Bonzi, our bench is looking pretty solid going in to the playoffs.

He has been so smooth with his shooting touch lately, hopefully he will keep the nice touch up into the playoffs.

Juwan, you always hear about his professionalism and I'm pretty sure I know why now. Always ready to play and he comes in and sticks to the fundamentals and does what he's asked to. He's in a real good rhythm right now shooting the ball and it helps.

Props go to Alston as well for shooting well lately and keeping the defense more than honest. It's really helping out the other players.

I remember one play from today's game. Battier having the ball at the corner, Yao was fronted. Battier faked a pass, and 4 guys on the other team squeezed into Yao, leaving Juwan wide open at freethrow line. Battier then pass the ball to Juwan for the open jumper.
He hit two jumpers in a roll, which forced Mo Cheeks to call timeout and changed strategy on defending Yao, and Yao was getting single coverage after that.

    "Juwan's trade value is zero"
"I'll trade Juwan with a bag of potato chips"

    ......

I see people now using the same words on VSpan ;)

and how about Chuck Hayes? Over the last four games, he has shot 90 % from the free throw line. That's even better than JHO!

He is an underrated defender. He is no shot blocker but he is a smart defender, his pick and roll defense technique is good, he takes smart fouls, stays in contact with his man and challenges the shot.

I still say we would have beat the Mavs in the first round if he wasn't injured.

Juwun is a good player i always under rated him but now he seems to surprise me. Chuck Hayes has been taking charges like Battier looks like battier has been training him. Rockets bench have been built to battle like men!!

You really have to give Juwan credit. In the past he has had problems producing points in "limited minutes" off the bench. He has been at his best "starting." We saw this a lot the last 2 years.

He seems to have figured it out off the bench which is a total bonus for us. Hayes is clicking with Yao in the starting lineup and Howard is supplying good points off the bench in limited minutes. Best of all worlds there.

BTW, seeing what Juwan is doing, this is what we "wanted" Bonzi to do. But he just couldn't do it. That is scoring in limited minuts. Being an effective player in limited minuts. Bonzi just couldn't do it unless he got major minutes and was a 2nd scoring option at worst.

Maximum efficiency in limited minutes is the key. Howard has it figured out and his shooting stroke in the mid-range game has been amazing!

Juwan is still getting around 25 MPG, and a lot of the times he'll be finishing in the fourth quarter. He's got a good rhythm going, and I think his current role on the team is perfect.

Its not just the rythem its that he also gives yao the open lane. Ppl cant double team him cause his j is money. I would say our PF tandem is perfect but i would really like to add Novak in the mix next year.
