Exactly. Even Sosa. Those guys stayed calm and lead their teams.

Give UT Conley and they are playing for the National Championship

i'm not sure what y'all are all talking about but DJ had 19 points and 13 assists in the first kansas game, basically his best game of the year. somehow that means we would have won without him (and have you actually seen us when he's not on the court? it's about like when luther head tries to be our point guard). and he even played well in the first round with 19 and 7 on good shooting. it was the big 12 tourney and this usc game, where he shot a combined 9 for 41, that he sucked at, and 2 of those big 12 games were against powerhouses baylor and okie state. so we haven't exactly built a compelling case that he can't play against good teams. just a good case that he had a really bad stretch to end an otherwise really good season.

mike conley might be better but he averaged all of 10.6 and 6.2 while DJ averaged 14.6 and 6.7. and DJ even had a slightly higher true shooting percentage. hardly anything that was gonna make it a lock that conner atchley, justin "the invisible man" mason, and jd lewis were gonna fly into the final 4. unless conley planned on grabbing about 20 rebounds today.

i'm not saying he could just jump right on in the nba and kick ass, but you don't do much better as a freshman than DJ did this season. plus in the nba, he'll love that they call handchecking unlike in college, they call body contact when you drive (i swear he couldn't buy a call the last few games when driving), and even give you continuation (he probably had 1 play a game that would be continuation in the nba but wasn't in college). his size will always be a problem but he's pretty damn skilled. a bad 4 games, against varying levels of competition, after good games against good teams, doesn't erase everything.
