It would be great it creates the sense of theater, with the focus suddenly switched from everything to the jump ball and commencement of the event.
Initially it will cause a short lived hussshhh which will highten, for the participants, the seriousness of the game, reducing many distractions for the players & enhancing their focus. Who wouldn't wan't to be in their seats for the start of such drama!!!!!! :p

The lights should give a quick dim with 2mins before the start accompanied with the sound of a trumpet, then silence as last moment viewers rush down the isles and into their seats ready for all the excitement!!!

Anything that helps to improve the professionalism of the game should be a positive move and help basketball clubs get past the sexy side show type atmosphere, which prevails at present.

I don't care about the lights as much but I wish TC was more of a loud obnoxious arena that opponents dread coming to play in.

If they make a shot, or a hustle play in Dallas, even if it's in the first quarter, they are louder than when we hit a game winning shot here in the Toyota Center. They stand up for everything on almost every play.

The Jazz have a good arena to play in as well, which is why I don't like that they have homecourt...

Oracle is pretty loud, Arco is pretty vicious although the Kings don't give them anything to cheer about.

i think kobe just wants one huge full court-sized spotlight on him. he might even beat out the ratings for ufc the way hes knocking out everyone in the league. kobe has officially started the next revolution of the jump shot.
