I recently won Employee of the Month (I know, I laughed too) at my company and one of the gifts they gave me was a silver money clip with the company logo on it. It's been sitting on my desk for about a month now. I use a wallet, but it's about 20 years old and kind of falling apart, but it's been so good to me over the years. The whole idea of losing the wallet for a money clip frightens and confuses me, but it seems like a lot of people use them instead of wallets nowadays. Do you put the cash outside the credit cards? Do you put it in your front or back pocket? What do you do with the pictures you used to keep in your wallet? So anyway, which do you use?
If I had a money clip, most of the time I carry it it wouldn't have money in it. It would just be a clip and that's pointless. The wallet holds plastic and other needed stuff.
I use a money clip with a credit card holder. It looks like this: If you have a big, fat wallet in your back pocket, it can be bad for your back if you sit on it every day.
always put mine in front pocket, never understood why its customary to put in backpocket. especially when you got this... actually mine is not that bad these days, just have to clean out the old receipts every now and then...
It doesn't matter how small mine is, it still sends pain down my legs if i sit on it for a period of time. When I walk, I put it in my back pocket. When i sit, i put it in my front pocket, especially when I have a chic that sits on my lap.
Money clip. But to be honest just get a check card and remove the need for money. Besides a bulging wallet from your back pocket is easy for a pick pocket. Much safer to have a money clip or just your cards in the front pocket.
I use this money clip. I take 3-4 cards (ids and ccs) and then wrap a few bills of cash around it, then slide it into the money clip. [Edit] I also carry it in my backpocket. I don't like to carry it in my front left pocket because thats where my keys are, and I don't to carry it in my front right pocket because thats where my cell phone is and its easily scratched.
There's nothing to worry about, you can have all you need with the new J. Peterman European carryall.
lost_elephant, I use the same money clip (gift from my wife). I carry both a money clip and a wallet. How 'bout them apples?
i used to have a wallet that had a clip on the outside to hold cash. but it just got annoying every single time i had to clip and the re-clip my cash. it is so much easier to just place it in a wallet.
Am I the only man in the world who doesn't keep his wallet in his back pocket? This seems to be what most people do, at least I think it is, but I could never get used to sitting on my wallet.
I use a wallet with a money clip built in. Its a little better than the credit card holder/clip shown earlier in this thread. I got it at Dillards and its made by fossil. I'll take a photo of it or find one on line and post. its the best of both worlds \
I use both. Bills in a money clip that belonged to my father, which I keep in a front pocket, and a wallet with the credit cards and other stuff, like insurance cards, in a back pocket. Keeping the bills in a clip gives me less to sit on, and is handy to get at.
I keep mine in my front pocket, too. It just makes more sense to me, and I think it's much more noticeable if somebody's trying to reach in to pinch it.
