With current situation, it is time for JVG to start howard. We definately need mid-range shot from Howard. Yao is not in the same level as before his injury, and is more focusing on the defensive side, there is no need to start Hayes. This is why I feel confused with JVG sometimes. Also, I couldn't understand not playing Snyder who could bring toughness that we need in playoff games.

we need howard's scoring when yao sits, you do not want to see deke/hayes front court, do you?

14.5 PPG, 8 RPG and 2 SPG the last two games...probably not the best time to ask for starting Juwan over Chuckie.

There is one compelling reason Juwan isn't starting. He's slower. On defense Chuck is much faster... as long as Chuck continues to pick up the garbage and hustle on defense Juwan is better coming off the bench.

The only way I would say start Juwan and sub Chuck is if you were going to pair Chuck with Jake off the bench instead of Deke.

Yea juwan is hitting the shots, but he's not rebounding as aggressively as he was earlier in the season. He's also not a good of a screen setter as chucky. Plus i like chuck's help defense when ppl go into the paint. He doesn't block much, but he gets in position and draws charges. I think thats really important with Yao there instead of Deke.

yeahh seriously -- not tryin to be rude but thats why alot of people that complain about JVG dont understand the big picture... hes a smart coach, thats why we put hayes in with yao because he helps rebound, hustles, gets easy layups because of mcgrady and yao, just like sumone mentioned up top the last two games hes been goin crazy scoring.... we need juwan to come off the bench for scoring and if bonzi comes back he places Tmac and we need him as a scorer too... JVG DESERVES MORE CREDIT!

    COACH OF THE YEAR

And what kind of offensive inside presence would we have off the bench. Mutombo, Hayes, Big Jake????

Dead wrong. JH should continue coming off the bench. If Chuck continues playing like he has, there is no reason to mess with the PF rotation between he and Juwan at all. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If Chuck loses his brain and starts getting 4 fouls in 5 minutes again, you might have a point. I like having Juwan on the 2nd unit because that's where he belongs at this point in his career.

jopatmc, question for you: Aren't you glad we didn't trade Juwan for Raef LaFrenz or Darius Miles?

Start Hayes means decrease the pressure of Yao, Hayes can grab rebounds and make fauls instead of Yao

Have you noticed that TMAC has made lots of assistants to Hayes? :D

Chuck can score too. Check out his stats in the recent games. With Yao taking double/triple team and T-Mac's fantastic passing, Chuck has scored a lot of points inside. The only thing he might want to work on is to make sure he can put the ball in the basket after he wins the offensive rebound. :)

I don't know about his assistants, but he's made the assists because the opposing defenses have decided to not guard Hayes because he's an offensive liability. Of course, this could work out in the Rockets' favor because when they collapse to double Yao, it will leave Chuck open slashing in for a monster 1 foot layup... he's about 50-50 on those, I think. lol. :)

No way, Juwan legs are gone and he is a liability on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Chuck's hustle gets us an extra 5 o 7 possessions every game. If Juwan is on he's great, but for every point he scores, he gives up the same amount.

We need to put Jake in Deke's place, because teams have figured out Deke and have started pulling him away from the basket and Deke cannot consistently score down low.
