Awesome. I've heard so many good things about AMEX Blue. The day I get a credit card, I'm going for that one.
I hate those lanes. Puts people out of work, and turns me into a checker. If they want me to be a checker, they're paying me!
They still have to have a person come and unlock the red light flashing when you mess up the scanning or don't put the item into the bag... ... and they're paying you by allowing you to leave faster... I guess?
Got to have a little cash on you..........................never know when a crackhead is going to come up to you with some crank or a fake rolex.
Danget I fergot to add Debit as a catagory but dosn't that fall kind of under credit becuase thier both plastic?
I always use the check/debit card and I always select "credit" instead of debit. Why? Because then I'm not charged a % and I don't have to input my PIN (security risk). Plus I earn points. But I usually carry about $20 on me, for those odd places that don't take credit/debit. I can't remember the last time I wrote a check. Even my apartment complex offers auto-debit online payment.
i'm kind of amazed at how few are saying credit cards. i basically charge anything i can and once every few weeks i might go to the atm to get some cash for the occasional situation where you either have to have cash or it's more convenient (i.e. bunch of friends getting pizza and everyone paying their share). since i pay it off every month it's just an interest-free, month long loan and i get 1% of it back. plus it's just nice having essentially everything on one bill at the end of the month. if they raise the price at a fast food place b/c of it, all you cash payers can foot the bill. i love those lanes. they're usually the shortest and get you out much quicker. since i buy groceries fairly often i only have 4 or 5 things (and so do most others in those lanes) so the checking out process is pretty easy. but one time i went to HEB after they closed those lanes and they only had one register open and some guy tried to pay for like $3 of stuff with a freakin' check. you don't have $3 in cash on you or a quick way to cover it? i mean i've had zero dollars on me for 2 weeks straight, but i have a cc. and then of course there was some problem with the check and then about 5 minutes later he didn't even end up checking out. damn you whoever you were.
I never get behind a woman at the grocery store that is over 50. They all write checks, and usually don't start writing them until the cashier gives them the total. Checks should be outlawed anywhere people have to stand in line.
I remember one time my dad was writing a check for something...and he moves slow to start with...........but he writes it on top of the plastic.. Has to start over and I don't think the people behind us were gaining any patience.
