another nash tirade. i'm not trying to convince you since that is hopeless, but nash had a great game tonight. amare as well. let's just put it at that
yes he had a great game, but of course the nash supporters immediately start yelling he's the no doubt about it mvp again. as much as you might say it's hopeless that i'll think he's the mvp (if he was on the best team and if he was one of the top 2 or 3 players i wouldn't really have a problem, but he's not so i do) it's pretty much hopeless that you and someone like tigermission1 will not think he's the mvp, no matter what anyone else does. nash just always gets this massive benefit of the doubt that no one else has ever gotten (as in this game happens and suddenly no one else should bother being on the ballot even though dirk by almost any measure is the mvp this season). anyway, since we're all diametrically opposed on this issue, i won't discuss it anymore unless someone brings it up again like in this thread (or until awards start being given out at the end of the season).
man, that was a ridiculously good game... the rockets have a ways to go before playing that type of basketball nash is mvp in my book... he was close to a triple double tonight, but he did a lot of little things to help his team win like taking charges and saving loose balls running out of bounds. his team needed him in the clutch and he delivered. dirk was good, but not good enough tonight. he missed some late shots and free throws and lost his cool with a technical. he could have drawn a foul on marion on the last shot but decided to fade away. a lot of people might blame dirk for the loss, but can josh howard be anymore of a bonehead? remember last year when he called a timeout that he didn't want to call? well.... tonight, he fouls nash on a 3 point attempt late in the game...
Man, our "get it to Tracy or Yao and hope they make something happen" offense looked so pitiful compared to the way those two teams played... We really need to bring in some more real talent from somewhere.
does anybody know where to find the full copy of this game? or at least the 4th and OT's? I watched the rockets game and then went to celebrate since I had seen that the suns were down big with only 3 mins left.
The latest news is that, they wont! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/marty_burns/03/14/flopping.notes/index.html
Ahh once again, I turned off a game cause I thought it was done... Then it goes on to be an awesome game...
I think Dirk will win the MVP and he is deserving considering how the award is typically given out (great numbers on a very good team), but he is clearly still not what I would consider "clutch". Ok, he is clutch...but not superstar clutch. JT is still the big shot man on that team. Dirk will put up great stats to keep you in the game but I just don't have faith that he would win it for ya. I thought he turned the corner on this issue last year...until the Finals started. Nash on the other hand..........
huh? Dirk is not in the top 5 in any statistical category besides free throw %. His team is very good, but only 2 or 3 games ahead of the Suns, and Steve Nash was out for 4 games or so. Tonight he was straight outplayed by Steve Nash, he choked at the end of regulation, and then defered to teamates all throughout the overtimes.
nah, it was a nationally televised game so it wont be on league pass. im staying up to watch the rebroadcast at 2 on espn. anyone know where i can watch that suns nets game? i keep it hearing about it
Dirk still has my MVP "vote" and Avery Johnson is my Coach of the Year. If the Mavs falter and the Suns catch them (or maybe end up with just one more loss), it will be a tough decision. Dirk obviously isn't as clutch as Nash but I still give him the MVP edge for now. Before he got hurt Nash was my guy but the Mavs historic run cannot be ignored.
anybody know why the suns were in white and the mavs were in green since it was in Dallas? Or does this happen often?
Incredible game but are these Sportscenter guys really trying to act like Marion fouled Dirk on that last possession?!
Hey, talk about you want about these two teams, but you guys are missing something, you guys left out the SA Spurs. They've won 13+ straight games ever since the second half of the season started, you know they're just playing around in the first half, and now they're showing it with authority wins. In my mind, Spurs are still the favorite to win. They got experience, they got TD, they got 3 rings (should be 5, the fisher .04 shots, and the Ginoblily foul), but seriously, anything can happen between these three teams. And also, watchout for the underdog, they might come out of no where and bite them. hint hint hint
Caught the last minute of regulation and the over times. What an ending. I agree with most here, Nash is the MVP and anyone that talks him down is kidding themselves.
