If you are running Windows XP there is a patch to fix that. Go to the microsoft web site or google it and you should be able to find it.
If you have the MS DST patch, then you might want to check your BIOS and change the time in there. Is this a fairly old computer?
It's about which sunday it's set to switch. I downloaded a MS patch to fix that. There's also a self edit mode if you want to try that. I can email that to you if you rather do that instead. Also, if you use the edit thing, you have to go into your time, uncheck and recheck "automatically update" so that it will take effect....
You set it to WHAT and it reverts to WHAT? Is it only on WINDOWS or is it also on the CMOS? (you know, the BIOS stuff...?) If the latter, then it's the battery on the motherboard that needs to be replaced.
If it bugs the crap out of you just get a time sync utility like Tardis 2000. These utilities periodically set the time on your computer to match one of the many reference atomic clocks around. It will have the added advantage of preventing drift.
Make sure the machine is patched from MS, if it still reverts back, open the time settings and make sure the Automatically Adjust clock for Daylight saving changes box is checked, if it is and is still going back uncheck it, hit apply recheck it and hit apply again. We had some pcs at work that despite being patched were still not holding the correct time, this fixed it.
I used to have something like that on my previous computer. It was really cool, but I'm glad I no longer do. I recently had to have my PC worked on for some weird stuff it was doing, stuff I couldn't figure out, and while the guys had it, I asked them if there was anything they could do to speed it up. They said, "Sure! You have a whole bunch of things running in the background, and loading when you start up. We can get rid of it." I said to do it, which was a great decision. It starts up 3 times as fast, or faster, and has more available memory. Everything runs quicker. I don't miss what I've lost, because I didn't know I had it. They said that it's very common for people that have had a PC for a long time to have something similar going on.
My clocks also set back. This is affecting me 100x more than Y2K ever did. Now I am missing business appointments and meetings at work. Stupid computers. Humans rule!
Not only do you have to apply the DST Windows patch, if you're running Outlook (not Outlook Express), you need to run a tool to move your appointments by an hour.
Go to the "Internet Time" tab on your clock and uncheck "Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server". Worked for me.
The computers are fine, its my darn dvr that has not changed and its causing me problems up the wazoo i tried looking everywhere to change it i reset it hoping it would re-grab the sat signal and re-sync itself but nope. it didnt record the rockets game last night because of it and i cant rewind live tv or anything else right now. my friend is having issues with his dvr as well.
