The only thing common with Yao and Bobby Lee is the face. Yao has freakishly long legs. Bobby has a freakishly huge waist.

I think you're right. Bobby Lee is avid Rockets fan just looking at this skid.

God, that was AWFUL. It looks like something a high school kid would do and put on YouTube, except it's not as funny.

Mad TV is probably one of the most un-funny shows to hit TV in the last decade. The canned laughter didn't help much either.

i am sorry for those of you who didn't think this MADTV thing on Yao wasn't funny.

I watched it 3 times and lol everytime i saw it. maybe i need to point out the funny factors.

1st time: bobby lee's impression on yao was on dead on funny. he is making fun of how yao look with his game face on.

2nd time: the lyric was funny as hell.

3rd time: how Yao pushed around all those other stars and took them to school. it is telling Yao to be mean and dominate the rest.

I think it was a little funny because:

    1. Seeing someone using the Novak jersey
    2. Seeing Yao dominate all those players, well thats not funny because we see that every game :D
    3. the song its a little bit funny.

MadTv isnt as bad as some make it sound. They have off episodes of course but there are some hilarious ones as well. It is definitely better than the snl. The mad tv cast from 4 years ago (or so) was the best, imo.

i cant see the video, but bobby lee is funny. Maybe not funny material, but he makes you at least giggle (either with or at him).

Michael McDonald is really good and has some great characters

Now I remember why I don't watch Mad TV. That was one of the worst skits of any kind I have ever seen. Isn't something supposed to have some elements of reality in them in order to be funny? Talk about uncreative. Please cancel that show and Bobby Lee's "career" while you're at it.

Man, 15,000 views and 12 honors!?

I was just trying to meet the request of the post. Didn't expect any of that at all. But now I truly see what we have in "the Chinese freak Yao Ming"! ;) Any other ideas? lol.

Good god, that was horribly unfunny. I never cracked anything resembling a smile while watching that pile of comedic dogsh*t. Is that the sh*t that MadTV tries to pass off as humor now? Damn, that was just sad. You'd have to be like ten to laugh at something like that.

Call me ten then. It's funny because we know the real Yao from being his fans. It's funny because NO ONE ever mentions Houston sports in the national media, let alone a comedy skit show... (and Yao and T-Mac have already been on Kimmel this year... which means nothing, just noting that outside of SportsCenter which barely covers Houston, you don't see it much. Also, Hakeem went on Letterman when the Rockets had a good year once ;) .).

It's funny because Yao really does stand head and shoulders above the rest of the league.

    It's humor. Fun. Funny. :D

EDIT: Are they spoofing "Big John?" I think that's the old song.. "Big John... Big John..." Is that it?

Hahaha, wow, listening to some of you guys complain about how bad the skit and madTV suck I have to sincerely hope you're just exaggerating.

1st) "MadTv is seriously one of the most unfunny shows to hit TV in a decade." Do you hear yourself? Have you seen some of the new shows passed off as acceptable viewing in the past decade? Its fine if you don't like MadTv and didnt find the skit funny... but making such bold statements is just really foolish. Plus, if MadTV is one of the least funny shows of the past decade; seriously, where would SNLs quality/entertainment level over the past decade rank in "the most unfunny shows of the decade"? Between Drawn Together and watching your grandparents have sex?

2nd) "That was one of the worst skits of any kind I have ever seen. Isn't something supposed to have some elements of reality in them in order to be funny? Talk about uncreative. Please cancel that show and Bobby Lee's "career" while you're at it." You must not have been privvy to many skits during the course of your lifetime... I mean, ever watch the last 30 mins of SNL over the past 5 years? Now that is brutal. And what do you mean isn't something supposed to have some elements of reality to be funny? Abstract craziness is funny, so are things that are not grounded in reality, but that's not even what this Yao skit is. By your standards, this skit about Yao should have been rolling on the floor hilarious. He is a big, dominating center and one of the tallest Centers ever... not to mention Asians. And did you actually see Bobby Lee's face? That was like a highly exaggerated version of Yao's gameface. There are other examples, but the things I just mentioned are examples of humor being grounded in reality. I sincerely hope you wrote your post aware of your exaggeration in regard to what should become of the show and Bobby Lee just because you didn't like the skit.

3rd.) "Good god, that was horribly unfunny. I never cracked anything resembling a smile while watching that pile of comedic dogsh*t. Is that the sh*t that MadTV tries to pass off as humor now? Damn, that was just sad. You'd have to be like ten to laugh at something like that. " You'd have to be 13 to say something like "You'd have to be like ten to laugh at something like that." It's cool if you didn't like the skit man, but you could really take it down a notch in your complaining and cussing about how bad the skit sucks. Although, I'm pretty sure that your animosity has at least a little something to do with your feeling that MadTV was mocking Yao Ming.

I don't care if you like the damn skit or not, the point is... maybe just ignore something you don't like, or if you wanna share your opinion then perhaps show some maturity and back up your statements of disapproval with something more than name calling and exaggeration. It is my opinion that MadTV, while not quite as good as it was 3-4 years ago, is muuuch funnier than the snorefest that calls itself SNL. MadTV's major downside is there is the occassional show that just isn't funny and the show, as a whole, can be rather inconsistant. However, the alternative is SNL which is consistant in its boringness with the occassional brilliant sketch... and if you've actually managed to sit through the last 30 mins of that show in the past 5 years and remain attentive you are a braver man than I.

See, now your input was greatly appreciated. Especially since I don't think you've posted in this topic prior to your trivial comment about not reading my long post.

Thanks though, I can die a happy man knowing some guy not even in on the discussion didn't read my lengthy reply.

And I'm absolutely sure you're pretty f*cking wrong. I could give a damn about somebody mocking Yao. That sh*t wasn't funny. I'm mad that they have a budget and airtime to put horrible unfunny sh*t like that on TV. What a waste.

I don't give a damn what you think about SNL. I don't watch the sh*t either.

The irony of this sentence is f*cking amazing.

See, there is that immature name calling and unsubstantial point making I was talking about.

But really, how is saying ignore something you don't like ironic? I didn't say one had to do that or that that should be the only thing one should do... but didn't your mommy ever tell you to ignore the bully that picked on you for being a moron?
