I don't think Yao's ever gonna be the best center in NBA - the sad fact hurts

That sounds like a plan. I need to calm down and get over this game. The Rockets are in the playoffs and hopefully the rotation will improve with Bonzi and Yao getting in better shape. Just one of those games. I feel better.

This game was about being outcoached, pure and simple.

The Suns came in with a great gameplan of double teaming Yao in the low post off the ball, basically playing a little weakside zone.

Did JVG do anything to counter the defense, did he move Yao to the high post to let him use his passing skills and to open up the lane for others?

    Nope.....

Did JVG put in our quickest perimeter defenders as our slow footed guards were getting destroyed by Nash and Barbosa....

    Nope.....

Surely JVG is going to chastise Tmac for his laziness on his defense of Marion and his not doing the fundamental thing of simply blocking his man out....

(Prediction) He mentions Marion but does not say anything about it being TMac.

Honestly this is my biggest problem with JVG, he is slow slow slow to make adjustments, and you can not play the better teams the exact same way you play the Knicks....

The Suns, Mavs and Spurs, and perhaps the Jazz all deserve a little different look than the rest of the league....some wrinkles.

Maybe, just maybe JVG is holding them back until the playoffs....but I don't have my hopes that high for that scenario.

I figured we would lose and figured the Suns would play exactly the way they did....I was HOPING that the Rockets had a plan for it, but I could see in the first 2 minutes that the Rockets were simply going to plod along as usual.

    Bad idea.

It has nothing to do with them being the second best team in the NBA?? They beat the crap out of everyone!

I think the problem with this game is Battier...Our two stars were struggling and he's not aggressive offensively...We need to address quickness in the offseason. Our frontcourt and backcourt are so slow...

someone needs to frickin whack barbosa or something.

He goes untouched to the basket every single time
and then goes back behind a screen to hit an uncontested three

grr his beady lil eyes pizz me off
Get VSpan in there for no reason other than to foul barbosa six times to send a message.

I don't believe that'll be something you will have to worry about. From all indications, the Rockets look to be playing Utah in the 1st round. Should they win that series and make it to round 2, they will have to face Dallas. Their playoff run will end shortly after that.

I have said for the last 3 years how badly I hate JVG as a coach... How he has absolutely ZERO offensive imagination...

But I've always been willing to acknowledge his alleged expertise as a defensive minded coach...

But when we give up open shot, after open shot to THIS TEAM, when we know, well in advance how they are going to play us, it's beyond inexcusable to keep Snyder on the bench, and to continue to play Rafer when Lucas was actually helping us get back in the game.

JL III was the only one capable of staying with Nash, and we never saw anyone put a body on Marion. These are the kinds of things a team should be prepared for going into a game like this.

And a coach whose unwilling to use his entire roster when his team is clearly suffering due to fatigue, and just plain stupidity (in Rafer's case), is again, inexcusable.

I think just because we weren't favored to win, doesn't mean we shouldn't have had a smarter job done by our coach!!!

JVG is an absolute idiot!!!

Well this team is built around two stars who are both soft in mind. None of them could step up when the team is in troubles. Really really really upset.

if it was that obvious that we dont match up well, and it was, why not utilize players on the bench that match up better. Does snyder suck that much?

PS. For those who want to blame this on Tmac and Yao shooting so poorly that is only half of the facts....they shot so poorly because the Suns had an excellent game plan for both of them....and contested EVERYTHING they did...

It will be the same in the playoffs.

We would get owned by the Suns in the playoffs.....and we have the talent to compete with them...rotting on the bench.

I wonder what this team would be like with Rudy T. as the coach.

I don't see the game. But Barbosa got 32! rox lost on this one. Other sun players just have a subpar game which might reflect the defense of rox. Offense side oh yao got 1/9 maybe his worst performance.

Rockets fans really build some pride stealthly. Let it go, Rockets did ok, not so bad except they forgot shot tonight.

Sorry, at this point I don't even know if they can pass Jazz. Don't go ahead of yourself.
