Watching the game on TV, I just dont get it. We have a winning team, Tmac & Yao are playing. The opposing team has exciting players in Carter, Kidd and jefferson on a Friday night game and yet we have a sparse crowd there in Toyota Center be it the upper or lower section. . Im a foreigner by the way , If I was living in Houston I would not have missed the opportunity to watch the game live coz . Yes the game turned out to be a lopsided win for us and NJ played bad but no one could have known before hand it would be that bad and thus not come. Cmon Yao missed a lot of games, Carter, kidd and jefferson can came up with WOW plays anytime regardless of their standing and oh Tmac VS Carter.

If a good # of those lower box seats tickets are owned by say coporate sponsors or employees who could not come for whatever reason. Would it be better for them (the coporate sponsor themselves ) to give it away / raffle it off to fans , that way they dont waste what they have paid for and at the same time it will be a good PR thing to improve their image to the locals right ?

It's because we're the fattest city in America. I was at the game btw.

I went to the New jersey game. The upper bowl was nearly filled up. It's just that the lower bowl always has large packs of empty seats and that too really good seats.

I think the light also makes it look like the upper bowl is empty but its usually fairly well packed.

today i went to the game against orlando and was sittin in the upper level...there were a few rows in the lower level that were FULLY empty!

I also saw maybe 2-3 empty suites...the rest of the suites were only half full

However, come playoff time the atmosphere will be electric...and after we make a deep run in the postseason more fans will start coming.

Yep, and IIRC Bill said it was a sell out.

Guess, that only counts sold tix and maybe not the people that come through the door? If so, then the seats were all sold...but i guess not all filled.

I would go to the games more often if parking were free. I've been spoiled by the old Summit when one didn't have to shell out $10 to park their car.

Now I like going to bars and restaurants to cheer with fans for free.

There's got to be a way around this. These people should use thos tickets somehow. if they have a good reason for not going, why can't they call and say they're not showing up so that the tockets can be given away or sold at a discount?

It's just a phone call. Put the number on the tickets. If you're not coming, tell us. We can move 100 rowdies down there and drive the other team nuts.

Well first of all parking at the summit was built into your ticket price so it was not free. Second your are not very smart if you pay 10 bucks to park. There are hundreds of parking spots at meters for free and when you get more than 1 block away from toyota center I am pretty sure parking is 5 bucks or less.

I am pretty sure you are b****ing to b**** because parking is no issue, hell at the summit it was a huge pain to get out of those lots at Toyota it's no problem leaving just like MMP is no problem.

It sounds simple but at Astro, Rocket and Texan games there are always gonna be blocks of seats owned by shell, exxon mobil, Aim etc. etc. and many times those either don't get used or they are givin to someone who rarely sits in them during the game.

The parking situation is actually BETTER than it was at the Summit.

At the Summit, you only had one choice for parking...that smelly urine filled parking garage. And if you actually stayed until the end of the game, you would be in line trying to get out for about a half hour because there were only 3 or 4 exits.

At TC, there are endless choices for parking. You can pay a bit more and park close or park for free a few blocks away. And because there are more lots to choose from, the backup after the games isn't really a problem.

I've always found that the further away you park, the quicker you can be on the freeway and heading home. I don't mind walking a few blocks and saving the $10. Hell, that's like a whole 'nuther beer I can drink at the game!

Most of the lower seats are corp. tickets and are passed around to execs/managers/to whoever wants team for that game so there's no real financial hurt if you don't show up. Imagine if you had to pay for the ticket and not show up

    The thread title is wrong.

The problem is that real fans don't actually get those tickets/seats.

The problem is simple Lexus Lounge. Its too nice so fans who sit in the lower bowl don't stay in thier seats and get excited about the game. I know everyone saw a bunch of empty seats down there last night guess what THE GAME WAS A SELLOUT!!!!!!

You guys are lucky. You have a good and exciting team that you you can watch their games in person. I live in the Bay Area, parking alone costs $15 at the arena.

I have been a season ticket holder at the TC for four years and NEVER paid for parking!!!

    Thats over 150 games.

Drive around the area before thegame starts and youll find something.
