:D from my observation, the phrase : 7'6" , is always being mentioned at least twice in every postgame quotes after rockets win.

Anytime he scorches an opposing center that's carrying a lot of hype, that center/player always throws in the 7'6 lines. The same ole "he's suppose to do that because he's 7'6"...."I'm not impressed because he's 7'6'"..."it's not my fault because he's 7'6".......*acting like he's not that good* "7'6 guys are suppose to do that"

    HEY!

Whats with all the "Yao is 7'6"" crap? Did you hear anyone say "Howard is 7 feet and runs like a horse and jumps like he is on a trampoline" crap, did you?

    Don't hate! Appreciate! :D

I agree. It's the line everyone uses to get themselves an "out". So annoying. They just don't realize "Yao is better than me. Has more skills than me. Regardless of height, he is better than me."

Yea, DHoward, you guys shoulda/coulda ran Yao more

Wow, thank God their guys defended Yao well, otherwise he would have gone off for 75 or so. ;)

I don't catch as much games as I use to, but that was great, and unbelievable from Yao!...Glad I enjoyed it!

Don't know if DH was just making excuses for letting Yao go off for 37. But coming from a guy that was able to place a sticker at the top of the backboard during the slamdunk contest, that's high praise indeed.

Yep. By that logic, Dwight should be way better than Wade and slightly better than Lebron. And Dwight should be MVP candidate way before Nash.

OK this is unrelated to the theme of the thread, but since we are talking about Dwight Howard, do you guys notice DHoward has disproportionally small ears relative to his head size?

The kid ain't looking terrible, however, every time I see him on TV, I can't help but feel his small ears are kinda weird.

exactly....7'6 has nothing to do with 86% from the line, a money jump shot, a baseline spin move that leaves you stuck in the mud, and being the first person in the gym every day.

If Yao could learn to use his height to play D, i.e. gave some sapce, but try to time the block, he is going to be a defensive beast.

I thought he actually did pretty good yesterday just sticking his hands straight up and avoiding getting himself into further foul trouble. It seems like Yao is becoming a more and more cerebral player, which is pretty impressive for his age - 4/5 years into the league.

It's also kind of like saying if you take away Howard's freakish athletic ability, he would be nothing.

The argument can apply both ways.

Agree. It's not like they didnt want to run. They couldnt.

Howard is good, but the kid is offensively limited. You put some pressure on him, he is going to fold, like Yao in his first couple years. 30 some points to Yao is reluarity these days. Dont know if Howard is ever going to achieve that.

Exactly. People are always dismissing Yao because of his height. But no one ever dismisses Dwight because of his natural gifts. It's not like Dwight would have been a puny little runt otherwise, but he just worked so hard than he turned himself into a beast. He's blessed with physical talent, just as Yao is blessed with height.
