The movie wasn't transparent. The only thing we knew after five minutes was that Willis survived a train wreck, something happened to a baby, and that the film wasn't Die Hard 4. :D

Character development and cinematography were both excellent as well. If you went in knowing it was a superhero flick, that's your fault - not the movie's. :p

That reminds me of some of the negative reviews I read of Sixth Sense. Most of which had the reviewer knowing waaaay too much going into the theatre. What a shock they didn't like it.

I think it's time for me to start bashing Rudy and Cuttino. This board needs it...

I love that there can be a percieved clique in an anonymous message board.

No biggie--- a clique of persona. And not everyone here is anonymous to everyone.

The thing is, too, that when you're IN a clique you reallly don't see it for what it is.

You guys have blown the whole clique thing out of proportion. My guess is that some people just like saying/typing the word "clique"...

Unbreakable was the first realistic superhero movie I've ever seen. I thought it was beautifully done, although they might've rushed the ending.

X-Men was also good, but the people weren't by any stretch deplorably human. I hope the sequel gets that right...

    rimbaud,

I take it by your silence I am correct in my assumption.

I pat myself on the back for figuring out the enigma that is... rimbaud.

Actually, my silence was due to apathy, but since you have "called me out" here it goes:

My theory is that either he works in a library

    Nope.

one of his parents work in a library

    Nope again.

he's a hermit who lives in the basement of a library

    Yet another nope.

He uses his vast array of books to mishmash and hodgepodge fancy ideas together in an effort to sound educated.

Not really. I don't do anything to "sound" educated, I simply am and am continuing to be. Additionally, I have never brought up any of the truly fancy ideas that I know, that represent the rhetoric of the intellectual elite. I don't know if I have ever even posted anything close to my area of expertise. :(

I face this internal conflict daily. Do I waste my ammo on the unarmed?

The differences between masturbating on an American vs. a French campus has never been relevant though.

    three thoughts on this thread:

    1) gus, Ive been around this place lurking since mid-99 and posting since early-00 and to this day I still kill threads..

    2) It is not true that newbies get run off or ignored as a matter of course, I have seen on numerous occasions when a newbie posts an intelligent and well thought out post, they normally will get numerous replies congratulating him/her for his/her excellent first post.

3)Manny, Don't let em get ya down, I for one enjoy silly threads (anything for a laugh) and imo life is too short to worry about other peoples opinions of you(or me)..

ok one more thing (i lied)

    4) Unbreakable didnt suck, but I sure as hell wouldn't waste my time watching it again.

    btw....I hate all of you!!:p

I hate being predictable ........

I tried to catch up on this thread on the 4th page, and that was the first thing I read. Puzzled, I started reading from the 3rd page, and this time broke out laughing when I got to Achebe's post.

    You kill me man.

Dang, OP, keep up with the conversation...we've moved on since the Cheers analogy.

Put down the rumor mill and slowly back away. :)

    Father Ocular,

What would you have done if no one had invented the period?

Damn..., this thread has gone over the river and through the woods from where it started. What? we got at least 5 different topics in this crazy thread alone.
