I agree that the best thing for us in the long run would be to have a high draft pick. Even if we end up with a terrible record. We do need more talented players. However, I disagree with you when you stated we should of traded Dream. When he retires as a Rocket we will be able to get free agents to come to Houston because we are a classy and loyal organization.(look at the Bulls now. All that cap room and no one wants to go there). I know we could of had the 5th and 11th overall picks in the draft(we would of drafted a point gaurd). However, I could almost gaurantee that we would not of done the Francis deal if we did the Dream trade. Let's just check out the possibilities for next year. We get a high draft choice, we get a farewell tour for dream, at the end of the season we get cap room to go after a star player, and we have this year to evaluate the talent and determine if we want to keep some of these young players. That is rebuilding after two years and respect for having a class organization. ------------------ Fuggetabout it
I forgot to state my last point. I just hope the team is still here. Win or lose I want to enjoy the HOUSTON Rockets. ------------------ Fuggetabout it
Mumu, Your post was right on. You assessed the situation perfectly for the future. We need to think realistically about this team yet maintain the qualities that made us a class organization. Man, if I had my own team I'd want you to be my GM. Out. ------------------ I'll miss you Charles.
Thanks Alaskan and Primetime. Prime, when you buy the team I will take you up on that ------------------ Fuggetabout it
