I stopped doing PBP because of school and work.

 

OK after reading this thread I am starting to think there is something better than isohunt.com.

If anyone has an invitation I would adore one. I have no idea what my ration is but I guarantee you I ul 500 times more than I dl. Gigs and gigs every day ul'd and I rarely download. It just sits there in the tray feeding other people. day after day.
night after night.
month after month.

And then I will miss a freaking episode of Heroes and my DVR is full so I have to go download it. then its back to the months on ends thing.

3 Oink invites and 3 Demonoid invites for anyone who wants them.

Use the Oink invite wisely. Demonoid is much more flexible and easier to maintain your ratio.

 

I would like a demonoid invite Rocketspimp, if you still have one.

Just for clarity - why is it hard to maintain an oink ratio? I'm guessing you have to seed your own torrents, and not just continue seeding torrents that you download?

Yep its tough...all the populr music is already seeded and you can't duplicate it. I try to download hot torrents that a lot of people are downloading. Then, if I am lucky, I seed the torrent and hope that I can get at least a 1.5 share ratio on that file. You have to stay above a 0.5 ratio and I am barely above that. I really can't even download music that I want right now, I am still downloading to reseed and build my ratio!

Don't download the whole thing or you'll dig yourself deeper. Pick and choose the files. You could probably download 200 megs worth of comics in that torrent and eventually make 10 times the upload return.

EDIT: I think people are getting wise to this. If you have a comic collection or audio book, you can upload that as well. There's decent demand for it to improve your ratio.
