I hear ya. I remember almost having a heart attack when I bought tickets to see the Stones at the Astrodome in 1981, because seats were $20 a pop!

Ima, if you go this route (don't pay the hundred) and get seats, they will be nosebleed, but if you are cool with that, then ciest la vie. If you don't get seats, you will be paying more $$ on ebay, craigslist or with a scalper if you still want to go.

I paid the hundred for the Stones fanclub and for the Who fanclub. If where you sit is important to you, then you do it. If not, then you don't.

    IT CAN BE DONE!!!

I would recommend setting up an account @ TM before Saturday. That way you won't have to worry about imputting all of your information when you score a hit.

I think upper deck tickets are $50 and $90. I wonder what the difference between the 2 is.

I don't mind being behind the stage. That just means I have a better seat to watch Stewie! :D

I only did it once and that was for Paul McCartney. My ticket was $250 and, honestly, knowing what I know now, I'd have spent $500 to go. I probably won't spend $250 for this show since I'm not as big a Police fan as I am a Beatles fan, but $90 to me is worth it.

Oh yeah my wife is already mad about the whole thing and she loves Sting and the Police.

I figure worst case I turn them closer to the date of the concert.

i've seen Sting 3 times, live. including on the 6th row of Jones Hall. he performed a bunch of Police songs. to me it wasn't worth it to pay that much to hear him perform those songs again with Andy and Stewart.

let me know how it goes, though!!!

I've seen him 4 times and he always does Police songs a cappella during his encore. I always like the encore better than the show.

I ain't spendin' $250 to go to ANY concert unless I get invited to come on stage and sit in on the drums! But I will give the $50 tickets a shot on Saturday morning.

    Sincerely,

Self Proclaimed Tightwad (and damn proud of it)

Be as dedicated and vigilant as you can on Saturday. The presales today did not go well, because a ticket broker was running some ridiculous script on the Police fanclub site and shut everything down. All the sales were delayed 3 hours. Take home lesson: brokers and scalpers are going all out to get every ticket available for this tour. They are mostly shut out of the Best Buy route (good news for anyone that has that option), but are determined to make major bank on this one-shot tour.

I can't make the Houston date, but lucked out like a bandit with the Dallas Night 2 "post sale" (Sec 105, F).

I strongly recommend finding a Randalls, Foleys, or Fiesta Ticketmaster outlet Saturday and be on a cell phone with a partner trying from home. These tickets aren't going to last, and I don't want anyone to be shut out.

If you are a Rockets season ticket holder they are having a presale today and tomorrow. When I checked a few minutes ago they had both the $90 and the $50 tickets available.

Why the heck do they have $225 seats? I don't understand, b/c it just leaves the fans with a bad taste in their mouths. I can't imagine touring with the Police would be that grand of an show. Its not like Cirque de Soleil or something.

I read scalpers in maybe Vancouver or someplace were charging 1K per ticket. LOL! But on Ebay right now there arent many buyers are the prices ppl are asking.

Yea, I paid $500 for SXSW this year, but I get to see maybe 25-30 of some of my favorite bands. And thats over 4 days.

If I took a girl to see the Police at $225 a pop, she better be on her knees the whole time through.

Oh yeah...well I've seen Sting and/or The Police ZERO times live and I say that any renditions of their beloved classics won't hold up to the original recordings in quality. I would rather just listen to those songs on iTunes over and over than pay anything to see them in any carnation at this stage in their careers.

    Sincerely,

    Self Proclaimed D*ckwad
