Well he did help New York recover pretty well, it is not his doing but he deserves some credit. Just look at how New Orleans is doing to get a counter example of what could happen when the leaders are totally clueless.

So, to be qualified for President we need a person who "deserves some credit" for things "not his doing" and who is better than the mayor of New Orleans.

    I don't know... that's a really high bar.

honestly to very different circumstances. an entire city was destroyed in the New Orleans example. there's no police force there. there's no people moving back.

seriously, what could rudy screw up? the clean up process? everything is out of his hands beyond a certain point. in both cases its a federal government issue to deal with. but more so with 9-11.

No doubt the fire fighters and police did a good job, but that's not Rudy's job. His job was to lead not digging through the rubbles himself, looking good on TV is part of being a good leader, you should know that.

Zero? Even though he was the mayor of the city?

RG does not make it out of the Republican primary. No way. No how.

I am not even sure that RG can beat any of the Dems, once the nation takes a hard look at him. His style is fairly autocratic, which I don't think Americans have much stomach for after 8 years of W.

I've read both his books, his policy statements on his website, listened to him speak on several occasions, done some research on his history and I agree with a lot of his ideas.

I'd say yes, he fits my standard of a good leader.

I like in NYC and I thought he did a good job as mayor, the exception of going crazy a few times.

If I have to chose a Republican to run for president I would definitly chose Rudy.

Pro-choice, pro equal rights for gays, liberal on social issues. I hope he wins the Republican primary.

I don't get it, I am not a big Rudy fan, probably won't vote for him. But read a few books and heard a few speeches automatically makes Obama a better leader?

As apposed to watching how Rudy was mayor of New York for 8 years, yes I would say Obama would make a better leader. But that's just my opinion.

I guess it's something you'll have to figure out for yourself.

you and rimmy sound really desparate to dicredit rudy. one might wonder why, particularly if he's as liberal as you say.

    Nope!

Just find it amusing that a liberal, Northeastern, X democrat is the best the republicans have to offer these days.

Even Rush is shaking his head at the choices.

I would think those would be good qualities...except for the northeastern bit ;)

(Other than the ticket he's running on....do you think he's that bad?)

Well he had problems in New York with some race issues and he's a bit of a dick personally but there are definitely worse running for the republican nom.
