white smoke coming out my muffler

    my automotive site is down so can anyone tell me why white somke comes out of my muffler all the time hot or cold?

    you might be burning oil, has your car ever overheated?? if so then it can be water thats gotten into the motor...

    White smoke is a class sign of an coolant leak, get a mechanic to check your gaskets.

    Black smoke = oil

    White smoke coming out exhaust could be water vapor from water leaking through water jacket around cylinder. Water in oil?? It will look milky.....

    White smoke = water/ coolant

    Black smoke = gas

    Blue smoke = oil

    I had blue smoke in my old Nova. It was a combination of burning oil and the fuel/air running rich. :D

    Thank God, I got rid of that car. Bad investment.

    Check your oil and water levels. How are they?

    Is the smoke coming out on hard acceleration or all the time.

    Have you replaced your PCV valve lately?

    i recently had the water pump replaced.....he also said there was a small leak somewhere by the engine when pressure was placed...i didnt get it fixed cause he didnt make it seem like it was big plus ididnt want to pay
