I thought that was a smart move by JVG not to let Yao back in the game. I hate to see Yao get injure in garbage minutes. Beside, he just dislocated his finger.

The official was dislocation which Matt Bullard said but they also said jammed. Either way he looked fine.

Yao ( C+) : He was having trouble dealing with Jefferson and got 3 fouls at the half.
He doesn’t look ready yet but still had an okay night.
T-Mac ( A-) : Had a complete offensive first half. Tried many different things and it worked great for him, finished the half with 18pt’s and 10 visits to the free throw line. Makes me wonder why in recent games he didn’t drive as much because when he does it appears effortless and it creates chaos on the opposing defense. Continued with a good 3rd quarter and rested the 4th when the game was done deal. Only blemish on his game tonight were the 6 TO'S but that is not enough for me to hand him anything less then an A-, I like the fact that he mixed it up offensively in the first and got others involved early.
Battier (B+) : Started hot from long range like every other Rocket in the first half but then missed 3 straight three’s. Was back on the right track in the 2nd offensively and defensively.
Alston (B-) : Surprisingly he took few shots in the first and made them too. Had a solid overall game, wasn’t impressive and gets the “-“ because of his 4 TO’S.
Howard (C+) : Not much in the first half from Juwan had stretches were he was just not doing much out there. Eventually got decent stats but most of that came when the win was already sealed.
Head (C): Was hitting the shots in the first and looked okay but in garbage time he looked pretty bad, not looking comfortable having to make decisions with ball which resulted in turnovers.
Mutombo (C+): He too struggled in the first against Jefferson, nothing impressive overall from Deke tonight, he still managed to block shots and grab 7 boards and be effective.
Hayes (B+): Was great on the offensive glass and got few more or less easy buckets because of his work on the offensive boards. He brought energy on the court and was a solid contributor through out the game.
Snyder ( INC): Played a few minutes late in garbage time and looked active as usual
JL3(Inc) : Came in late and didn’t really get a chance to do much.
Novak(Inc): One long shot one bucket, that’s it.
Spanoulis : Why wasn’t he used at all in such a blowout? I hope Spanoulis doesn’t get too disappointed and leaves comes summer time.

The box score looked sweet tonite with 6 guys scoring in double figures. I know Yao only played 18 minutes, but I was impressed with Chucky leading the squad with a double-double, 14 pts, 11 boards (with 8 on the offensive glass). I don't get the game here in San Marcos, but having Yao back seems to just create for everyone else, obvious enough, but even more than just scoring opportunities, as Chucky showed. It sure as hell feels good to give the Celtics a beating. I'm a bit disappointed in Mac's 6 TO's, not to complain, though. I wonder if JVG will reiterate what he said about Yao being a high turnover guy to Tmac. Anyways, nice to see a very efficient night from the team as a whole and destory a Celtics bunch that has looked decent since Pierce's return.

VSpan didn't play b/c there was no sense splitting the scrub minutes at the point. It was either him or Lucas, not both. And Lucas did a decent job out there, I thought.

Yao did pretty well considering it's only his second game back. Having an offensive presence at the center position really opens up the game for everyone else. He had a hard time adjusting to Jefferson's speed, but that's expected given his rust. He'll get used to playing against smaller, quicker big men again.

Towards the end of the game, Pierce was shown on the bench smiling and laughing as if the blowout is no big deal. It's hard to fathom how we lost to these guys at home.

He won't won't be a rookie, next year. He'll be a 2nd year player and JVG plays 2nd year players. See Head, Hayes, and Snyder. He'll take JLIII and Head's minutes.

I think Novak is decent on the boards. He is just terrible on the D.
