Does anybody on here drink this stuff? What does it taste like? Do you drink it non-sweet or sweet like black tea or no?
it is no-sweat, but taste is quite different with black tea, you can feel it was actually made from leafs. My hometown made one kind of very foumus green tea, called Long Jing (Dragon's well?). Try it.
You can pretty much drink it anyway you like it. I personally like mine non-sweet and hot, but I know Lipton's sells it sweetened and cold. Green tea is very good for you, especially compared to all the crap we eat/drink on a regular basis.
OK, I have also heard that the basic black teas hold some good health benefits too. Is it that green tea just holds more.
Black tea is caffeinated. Green tea is very good for you. It has a very light taste, just barely more than water.
Green Tea is about as high in anti-oxidants as anything you can drink. Its very good for you, and the caffeine is minimal (compared to coffee, for instance). Just google or wiki it. You'll find all kinds of info.
That's cool, that's how I like my water with just a little flavor that's why when I eat out I always put a lemon in it.
Some green tea can have a vaery strong taste. The Americanized Lipton, etc. brands are mild but many other forms are strong. Lil Pun - if you buy sweetened just know that it will be counteracting any health beneifts...espcially if they use high fructose corn syrup or something. Just go to a Japanaese restaurant and order some hot. It is cheap and usually unlimited so it would be a "low risk" way to try it unsweetened.
green tea is good for you. sweetened, bottled green tea (i.e. Arizona, Sweet Leaf, and the 500 other brands out there) pretty much cancels the good with all the sugar thrown into the bottle. So in those cases, you can drink it if you want, but don't say it's cause it's good for your health..
I went to Wal-Mart and all I could find was the sweetened version. I grabbed a bottle since it was only 98 cents. I'll try some unsweetened if I can find it.
Green tea is the only thing I drink, it's keep you awake, it gives you energy, and it's great for your health. However, you're not going to find the true green tea easy here in the states unless you go to a authentic Chinese store to buy it or actually make the trips to asia, and it's not cheap either, in fact, it's very expensive for the qualify ones.
Whiskey + Green Tea = seriously. try johnnywalker and cold bottled green tea (if you happen to have an asian supermarket in your vicinity), it's delish.
you can always find green tea bags.. can make yourself some in the microwave and pour it over ice if that's how you like it? Not the same thing, but at least it's something.. (also, at least with regular tea, some people like to use 2 tea bags since they use a ton of ice, which dilutes the tea..)
Brew green tea only briefly - 2-3 minutes tops, brewed at less-than-boiling temperature; 175-185 (let the boiled water sit for a minute before pouring. It iwll be bitter if burned or overbrewed. I would stay away from the cheapy stuff, green tea is a little more delicate than black. It has about 1/3 the caffiene of coffee, that is just a guess, but i think it is right. no sweetener, no milk.
