I attended the Warriors' Open House today and got the chance to ask some of the Warriors' staff (Promotions Manager and Operations Manager) about Jackson and if they thought he would be back.

The Promotions Manager stated that while Jackson was a good player, he felt that $24 million was too much for Golden State to match given that Troy Murphy can do everything that Jackson can do.

The Operations Manager (OM) gave several of us a tour of the Arena including the Warriors' locker room. Jackson's name plate has been removed from his locker. The (OM) stated that Dampier, Fortson and Foyle were all healthy and ready to go. He also indicated that Troy Murphy was looking good and more than capable of filling Jackson's shoes. As a side note, he also mentioned that Jackson was a liability on defense.

So, while these comments are far from official, it appears as if the Warriors are happy with Murphy as Jackson's replacement.

While I was in San Francisco, I kept hearing ads on the radio sounding something like this: "Come and see the Warriors it's a great time out!"

I just chuckled to myself... :D

Thats funny, I was there today as well.

He also left his shower sandles in the locker, so your figure he has to be coming back.

I'm not trying to be rude, but here's another picture taken at the same time. The guy's name is still on the locker and I'm pretty you won't be seeing him in a Warror's Uni next year.

    Nice website, great pictures!

When I was there at approximately 3:00pm on 9/29 his name plate had been removed. The only shoes that were laying around was Dampier's size 16.

I did ask about Porter and was told that he would definitely be on the team.

Practice facility in Oakland on 8-10, and on 9-15 as well.

Ottoman, based on your logic, I guess Richardson, Murphy and Arenas won't be on the Warriors next year. Since none of their names were on lockers yet.

Mullin, Keefe and Blounts names were still there, only Blount has a chance of coming back.

As far as I am concerned, you are welcome to Jackson. He plays poor defense, has no vertical leap, he can barely dunk.

He excels at drawing contact and getting to the line, and has a decent mid-range shot. He is a face up to the basket player.

We drafted Troy Murphy who is more athletic, has a better shot, and is cheaper than 3.5 a year.

What are you talking about? I posted a pick of Porter's locker with his name on it. As he was reciently arrested, and may be in jail, I pointed out that because someone's name is on their locker doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be on the team.

I would be intrested in having you explain the logic of the leap which you made. I in no way ever referenced anyone whose names weren't on their lockers. I only pointed out that the presence of a name is not an indicator of their presence, either for or against.

Forgetting about the name plate issue for a moment, the above quote echos the sentiment of the Warriors staff that I spoke to.

It seems as if the Warriors are happy to let Murphy replace Jackson.

If so, I am happy to have Jackson on the team. I think he will add some interior toughness.

Oh yeah. You don't forget a thing like that.

You have fungus on your shower shoes. The day that you win 20 games in the show, you can let the fungus grow back on your shower shoes, and the press will think you are colorful. But until then, it means you're a slob.

    Ottomaton,

You're the one who made the leap here.

Bay Rock said Jackson's nameplate was missing. Warriorsworld posted a picture showing it was still there.

Then you changed the subject to say, "Well, that doesn't mean he'll be back." Until then, it was just a factual issue about the presence of the nameplate.

Go take a cold shower. :)
