Yao and Chuck will start. Juwon and Dikembe to the bench. Snyder likely staying in his role of 1st swingman off the bench.

I think he fits better with Yao/Mac. Juwan will be a great boost off the bench for much-needed scoring.

Can not WAIT. :D :D :D Chuck is the best with Yao because we don't need offense when Yao and Mac are both on the floor. We need rebounds and hustle!

If Bonzi would stop ****ing getting injured, our bench would finally be looking pretty solid now.

Head/Bonzi/Snyder/Howard/Deke all coming off the bench.

The problem with chuck and yao together is that other teams don't guard him and they double yao. I love chucks' rebounding and hustle, but I wish he had a jump shot.

That's the rotation I've been waiting for. This should be good.

agreed, but he does a good job of cutting to the basket for a layup when Yao gets doubled.

But yeah, he def. needs a jumpshot

Matt, are you saying Snyder will stay in that role when Bonzi gets back? That is what will be interesting.

Bonzi clearly has the higher ceiling, but he also turns the ball over too much. Snyder might not be the brightest bulb, but he isn't turning the ball over. And he has been playing unselfishly as of late.

Thank god for this. That lineup was money the beginning of the season. Let's hope Rafer can step up.

so what's the situation with bonzi? did he get injured recently? i haven't been able to catch the last 2 games so i'm outta the loop right now.

jvg really needs to find a way to play bonzi and snyder.... if that means reducing head's minutes, so be it.

Hmm... Reducing Head's minutes never even occurred to me. I agree. Whats so bad about that? I am tired of relying on 3pt shooting anyways and biting the bullet when Stackhouse or Allen posts up Head on the other side.

this is exactly how i've felt for a few weeks now. head is a great 3point shooter, but that's about it. why are we holding back a much more talented player for luther head? this isn't rocket science here. just reduce his minutes (regardless of position) and let bonzi and snyder pick up the slack.

I'd like to get Bonzi back to see how he would fit in with Yao. I would like to see Yao and Bonzi run that baseline screen play where Yao hands off to Bonzi and screens out Bonzi's defender for the dunk or easy layup. Its a play that Head and Yao run but I think would work better with Yao and Bonzi.

Who's the much more talented player? I've been a big fan of Bonzi getting in shape and being the "missing link" in our championship run, but he hasn't been that unfortunately.

With Yao and TMac, what magnifies their deadliness are 3 point gunners. We give up a lot if Luther gets less minutes because neither Bonzi nor Snyder are gunners. The middle is also a bit more clogged with Yao down low now, so any post-up or driving advantage they have may be reduced.

That being said, I would like to see what Snyder can do now that he's healthy. I'm not getting my hopes up because Snyder has been a borderline player to-date for other coaches. If nothing else, Snyder's size may provide more versatility for JVG provided he's not another Stromile and can't learn sets.

We'll see if the size/athleticism Snyder brings defeats the shooting/athleticism that Head brings.

We never saw the Yao, Battier, Bonzi, McGrady, Alston/Head, lineup did we? I could see it working against the East or teams like the Mavs. On offense Bonzi would play the PF role I guess. Im not saying start that group, or even play it that often. But I know it would work in the right situation. Head at PG would open up the 3pt and Tmac could run the offense since Wells and Yao would certainly leave McGrady without a double team.

Damn Van Gundy's stubborn rotation mentality! I still like em though...

DoD, I pretty much echo your sentiments. And not to get ahead of ourselves, but your reasoning above is exactly why I feel in the off season, we should probably let Bonzi go and look for someone that fits the swingman mold a bit better for our team (since Synder isn't a gunner and his bb IQ limits him). Imagine if we had someone like Morris Peterson. 6'7" length, "durable", decent defensively and can hit the 3pt shot. He isn't much for creating his own shot though as a 3rd scoring option....which is why one would still go after Mike James. :D
