Great fights, save the Matt Hughes sleeper. Still in awe of Randy Couture! Dude comes out of retirement for Silva? Are you kidding me? Great show! Can't wait for next months show at Toyota Center!
if the fight stays standing YES, crocop's kick is absolutely vicious, plus crocop was consistently number 2 in pride behind fedor, and pride probably have the best HW MMA division in the world.
i CANT BELIEVE gomi lost last week. he looked out of shape and didnt seem to care. i thought we saw the return of the fireball kid when he put a huge beating on ishida. i read he was more interested in bar hopping and black jack tables and blond hookers while in vegas. the first time in pride he has ever tapped. even in the aurelio fight he showed his heart by refusing to tap . i truly believe that if gomi is hungry and determined, he is unstoppable, winning the belt seemed to have screwed him up. i pray we get to see the old gomi again. funny thing is that even though gomi lost, diaz was the one who got ****ed up. GOMI HITS HARD!!!!!!
Too bad PRIDE is in financial trouble because Pride 33 and the Open-Weight GP FInals (PRide final countdown absolute, IIRC) were the two of the best overall shows I Hhave ever seen. If you can find a copy and you're an MMA fan you should do it.
Im shocked at what Randy did to big Tim. Coming off 2 KO losses and then to dominate one of the best strikers in the division is amazing. I hate to bet against Couture but I think CroCop takes him out when they fight.
I was going crazy when Randy won the belt, but I kind of didn't want him to win too. Now he will have to fight Cro Cop and he has possibly the best takedown defense in all of MMA. It is going to be a very bad fight for Randy.
Very Very true..... Can anybody defeat Fedor? That dude ( I think is Human ) is unstoppable!!! God I wish Fedor could come to the UFS for just a couple of fights and show everyone up hahaha...
Saw this Saturday night was as stated before, Couture was unbelievable...All the fights were good except one, but man, that last one was awesome...
I used to watch UFC when it first came out. Probably stopped paying attention after the second year. Just wondering, do the fights still go the same way? Meaning fighting on their feet for maybe 2 minutes, and then ground grappling for the next 15?
