We ain't gonna get. We put ourselves too much of a distance to catch up with the Spurs and Jazz. Those 3 blown games to the eastern team killed any chances we got and this was sappose to be the makeup game. We should at least try to maintain our postion at the 5th spot to get either the Jazz or the Spurs which is good enough if we want to advance...

Even with Yao back, we will probally struggle for another 5 games and with about a month left, there's not much time gain anything(standing) but maintain our spot. Unless some crazy injury plague those two team I don't see them slowing down...

It isn't too late. I never expected to catch the Spurs because they often get red hot after the ASB. We definitely can catch the Jazz. They are 4 losses ahead of us with 23 games to go.

I do. I think he will be good one day, I really do. I want him to be as great as he can be. But I am sick and tired of the VSpan crew saying he is the savior when all he is is an unexperienced rookie. He has many flaws in his game, like most rookies do.

After every loss, most of you b**** and moan about how he would have made the difference, well he didn't. Maybe it will shut some of you up now.

I want him to be great, but maybe, just maybe, JVG knows more about hoops than you all do...

No matter what I rather have the team playing great down the stretched. Down 4 in the lost column still have a shot at the 4 spot.

I for one never said he would be the savior of this team.(they don't really need saving anyways) I know he isn't ready yet and he cant do anything this season. i do think however that there should have been more work on developing him form the start of the season. the blind love towards a player is as bad as the blind hate.

The debate over Vspan is like the YOF vs YOH situation now. :D I am a little bit disappointed at him tonight as he showed he didn't know what to do in the precious time he got. Not smart enough and over aggressive. But one thing is for sure, (under our current circumstances, the extremely erratic performance of Alston...and I am speechless to Head) playing him is better than not. It is either developping a rookie or find out he is a long way to go and we need a trade/sign in the summer. In both case, we don't lose anything, we get to know some answers...

I know what you mean, but we have been short-handed most of the season and we are trying to make the playoffs. If that means sacrificing rookies PT, then so be it.

I think he'll be a solid contributor (AT LEAST) before it's all said and done, but we don't have the depth to throw scubs in unless it's a blowout

But we are playing for this season, not the future. I agree that Alston is pretty bad and Head is the worst decision maker on this team, but both are better options that VSpan at this point (which is sad in a way)

If we had no chance, then he should get a lot of looks. But for now, we are stuck with our mediocre backcourt.

It'll be tough to catch the Jazz. They hung together really well when Boozer went down. It's not impossible, but it's improbable. I'd still love to see them in the first round, homecourt or no homecourt.

I just hope the he and the coaching staff can work on his game during the off-season so by the time pre-season rolls around he can show some good signs.
Kinda worried Europe would be a big temptation for him right now.

Another knee jerk thread...Guys we have probably the BEST player in the NBA adding on to our team on Monday and we're quibbling about losing homecourt?!

HAHAHA stupid bandwagoners, just wait till we get that 3d seed

I know the record says we are better at home, but I actually think we play with more intensity on the road due to the atmopshere other teams possess. And you notice all the blowouts at home to good teams is simply due to the fact they don't come out with intensity because of our atmosphere.

The only problem is, all this changes when the playoffs start. You really want to play Dallas in Dallas for game 7?? My damn phone broke the place was so vibrant last time that happened. And don't forget we lost by 40!

So I'll take home court if we can find a way to make up those games.

In other news, Yao Ming of the Injured Team was released and sent to the Houston Rockets. The last straw came when the Injured Team played the Suspended Team and Nate Robinson attempted to block Yao, only to see Yao fly over him and slam it down. The Injured Team coach furiously ranted about Yao's hustle and his non-injuredness after that event. Trade rumors swirled for weeks .The Injured Team tried to get Tracy McGrady in exchange, but finally had to settle for a whale sometimes known as Bonzi Wells.

    ...

Screw home-court...Rockets for the championship! Whoo.

We won't catch Utah. Look at their remaining schedule vs. ours. Unless the Rockets lose no more than 5 games the rest of the way and sweep the remaining 2 against the Jazz, forget about home court. The goal now has to be holding onto the 5th seed and hope that the Spurs remain in the 3rd spot.

Of course, we can catch the Jazz. Our schedules have similiar number of road and home games. We both have similiar home and road records. With Yao Ming, I know we will go on a winning streak. The Jazz will fade away in the end. It's a given. Everybody proclaims Sloan will be Coach of the Year and how strong the Jazz are in the first half of the year, then everybody forgets about them by April.
