Is the best playmaker in the game today along with Kobe, and also says his prescence is just as important as Nash. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=270302007 Pretty much what we've thought all along, its just nice to see it noted on a national level. I think if we go 16-8 the rest of the way and finish with 52 wins, JVG will win coach of the year and T-Mac will come in 2nd or 3rd in MVP voting (i think its a foregone conclusion that Nash and Dirk will be 1 and 2 in some order)
TMAC deserves to finish top 5 in MVP voting, and JVG top 3 in coach of the year for sure. What a difference a year makes. It was great to get some national respect as a 'sleeper' in the Western Conference tonight on ESPN. Yao: take your time and come back 100%...we could pull this off.
True that, I respect him for that. I think it really is a subtle dig at 'Melo to become a better playmaker for his team. I mean Melo is good and all, but the kid ain't got sh*t on T-Mac. I bet you George Karl wishes he had McGrady running it there.
George Karl has always talked well of Tmac, back in Orlando he went so far as to call him the very best in the league.
I've been saying that T-Mac is the best playmaker right behind Steve Nash. Nobody else can create for his teammates like T-Mac and at the same time, carry the offensive load. Now with Yao coming back, it's going to make it so much easier on T-Mac.
TMac is awesome, I think D Wade, Kobe and TMac all have the playmaking skills and instinct to be a very good quarterback on the team.
This is the same guy who single-handedly kept the Magic competitive with Karl's star-studded Bucks in the 2001 playoffs.
The way tracy is playing (top 3 player),gives the luxtury of not having to force yao too early. the worst thing we can do is bring yao early and see him re-injure the same leg and miss the rest of the year. with tracy carrying this ballclub magnaficently, we should be able to ease yao into the rotation.
or the other leg. i think the rockets will proceed carefully - yao is too valuable to risk bringing back too early. the season is pretty much decided - we will be a 5 or 6 seed - so no need to rush, and more reason to give vspan a chance....
The most important thing about this, by far, is that it will allow McGrady to have a much longer career as a superstar, if he wants it. When Jordan could no longer go to the hole, he had to refashion himself as a dedicated jump shooter. McGrady can become -- is becoming -- a playmaker. He'll have to maintain enough solo offensive game to keep the defense honest so he can get somebody open. But if he wants to play well into his 30s at a high level, he has the necessary talent upstairs.
You've got a point. Karl has two of the top scorers who have absolutely no ability to make plays for their team.
Yes I was thinking about this a few weeks back. I wish he wpould add more fadeaways like MJ did. Then again, He elavates so high when he shoots maybe he doesnt have to....But it will certainly help when he is double teamed.
He seems to me to be a huge jerk with a history of wearing out his welcome and underachieving on talented teams, but he does say whatever he wants.
jordan's fadeaways => tmac's shot off the screen. this is tmac's move that will prolong his career. he RARELY did that in orlando and first yr in houston. he has perfected this yr.
52 wins might not be enough, but if rox can have more wins than jazz, JVG will be the coach of the year. I think the seeding in order will be mavs, suns, spurs, jazz, rox, laker, 7th and 8th which do not matter because they will lose to mavs and suns anyway. I hope Rox can end with more wins than jazz.
