Dawson announced today that they are getting the exception for Taylors injury. It will allow them to spend up to half the amount of Taylor's salary cap figure for this upcoming season on a free agent. Old School
Definite??? If so, OUTSTANDING!! about damn time. ok CD, shows us what ya got up yer sleeve. prayin for Jackson............
OH BABY!!! Lets lock up Marc Jackson for 3 or 4 years (cheap), and get on with the business of getting to the playoffs!
Thanks for the scoop Old School! This is great news indeed! I'm all for Marc Jackson or Anthony Mason. Scott wouldn't be too shabby either. Cod
Pretty ironic that TheRocketGuy and his website were just TRASHING Mo, claiming he cost the Rockets the exemption and that they weren't likely to get it. Geez can you trust anything that come from over there!? I wonder if it's possible for the Rockets to get Shawnelle as well? Guess I'm getting greedy, I'll take Marc Jackson! Hopefully the Warriors don't match.
Old School, on the scene -- with the scoop! Nice job, as usual No, I believe the Warriors can match any offer up to $4.5 (or is it the league average, which is around there?) and get him .... the question is: Will they? With Fortson ($40 million), Dampier ($50 million), Foyle ($20 million) and Jamison ($70 million) roughly all in there. Or will they possibly use the leverage of matching the offer to work a deal? Don't know.... maybe Swopa would know better.
My guess would be that if the Rockets offer a lot of years with the max raise each year (isn't it 20%? or is it only 15%?) that they could offer somewhere around either a 5 year 24 million or a 6 year 30 million contract. If I'm Golden State I probably don't match that just because they're already sunk into long deals with Fortson, Foyle, Dampier, and Jamison. The question is if this is the type of deal that Houston can afford, because if they only go around 3 years I would guess it's almost certainly going to get matched. But at least at about 5 million per he's probably making the league average over the life of his deal, and even though he probably overacheived last season he's still probably not any worse than average.
NOW I LIKE OUR SQUAD. JACKSON AVG 17PTS AND 9.5 REBS WHEN HE STARTED. I HOPE THEY'LL LOOK AT THAT AND START HIM
17/9 are easy on a team like Warriors. I think with us he can push up the rebounds but scoring will go down...but that anyway who needs when Marc will be the 4th option...... I think the big part would be if gets to play 28-32 minutes or not...
