I'm pretty sure it has more to do with the Magic's sucktacularity. As poor as we've played since coming back from the break, we were still slowly becoming one of the league's better stories. And McGrady is always a primetime player... not to mention that there is still a good chance Yao will be playing that game. So blame the Magic.
P.S. Thank god for League Pass... although it really sucks that I won't be able to watch this one in HD. I wish all NBALP games were HD, damnit.
At least you got to watch it all, they didn't show the last orlando game at all on league pass, first game I've missed entirely in years!
What the f***!!!! Drop some Cavs games!!! They're not that good, and I been seeing them twice a week for the past 3 years!!!! Cavs, Suns, Lakers, Bulls, and Heat get at least 2 games a week on TV!!!
I'm not one to start a riot, but the game we might end up seeing is Nuggets @ Kings, two teams that might not even be in the playoffs. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/schedule?date=20070307
I believe the nationally televised games are set at the beginning of the year and given the rockets' record last season, there's a reason they have few games on national tv.
If they dropped us for the Suns/Lakers then we really can't complain. The Lakers are always popular, Nash is still an MVP candidate and those teams did have an exciting playoff matchup last year. Plus no Yao.........
The Lakers are playing the Mavs that night... on ESPN 9pm. They couldn't have dropped the Rockets for that game. Here's the complete NBA schedule for March 11th. Seattle at Toronto 1:00 PM Detroit at LA Clippers 3:00 PM Orlando at Houston ABC 3:30 PM Denver at Sacramento ABC 3:30 PM Chicago at Boston 6:00 PM Indiana at Cleveland 6:00 PM Washington at Miami 6:00 PM Dallas at LA Lakers ESPN 9:00 PM Golden State at Portland 9:00 PM They have two games with ABC next to them.. and here's where I found the schedule link I really think they dropped us for the Nuggets/Kings game
Wow that's so damn gay, I was looking forward to that game, especially since its on national TV and against T-Mac's old team. I hate ESPN and ABC lack of coverage of Rockets games. We're too good to be denied.
I really can't believe that they would drop us for Nuggets/Kings... there can't possibly be more interest in that game than our game. I don't care how many fair-weather fans are in Houston, that just doesn't make sense... Could they have dropped us for that Pistons game?
Nobody wants to see the Magic. That's obvious. Even Dwight Howard isn't enough for people to want to see them. Don't fans want to the see All-Star player Yao Ming, behind only Lebron in votes, come back in his first game?
I've heard they have some flexibility given the length of the season. Anyway if they set based on last year ABC still had to figure the Rox would still have Yao and T-Mac who are draws. That said given tonight's performance maybe ABC knows something we don't.
