Oh man, this is heartbreaking. These Rockets just can not figure out how to win. I can see the posts...Where was Francis, why isolate Mobley, why didn't Shandon play more? Where was Kenny Thomas? Answers below. Where was Francis? I think Rudy is trying to teach this young man a lesson. Right now Steve is an amazing..AMAZING offensive player. BUT !!! His defense is some of the worst I have ever seen, I mean it is pathetic. Other teams PG's constantly match him in performance. Folks it is not a mismatch if the stats are even. Why Isolate Mobley, this I don't completely understand. I think they went to this WAY too often. It leaves other players standing around. I think Rudy is trying different things at the end to find something that works. Why didn't Shandon play more? He certainly should have, he is the only player on the Rockets who truly understand the TEAM concept. Where was Kenny Thomas? I would love to know this answer, he creates many matchup problems at PF with his 3 point shooting, not to mention he has the most court awareness of all the young Rockets. Our defense has got to improve, we are giving up easy baskets, be it uncontested jumpshots or open paths to the basket. Someone needs to get MEAN on this team. MAN COULD WE USE AN OAKLEY !!! HURRY BACK HAKEEM !!!! DaDakota
You know on the bright side, the Rockets are turning the ball over WAY less, and the games are getting closer. Perhaps we are only a CLUTCH player away. Hurry HAKEEM !!! DaDakota
I know. Francis is the leader of this team. I dont care what he is doing wrong he should be in the game in the last quarter.
You know what Francis3, I don't think he is the leader yet. I think the Rockets are still searching for a leader. While I do agree he should be in finishing games, I would much rather have the ball in his hands then Mobleys, I want Steve to calm down and let his teamates catch up. However, as I said in another post, you can not learn from your mistakes if you are not in the game making them. DaDakota
Ill tell you where Kenny thomas was? on the bench where he belongs tonight..granted i like his hustle on the boards but the man cant finish a layup. he opens up the offense wiht his threees?? please he hasnt hit that consistently enough to gain that much respect.
Tru that wizard. He has missed his last 6 or so 3 point shots. I haven't seen him make a 3pointer in a long time. BTW, I thought our defense was pretty decent except for the 1st quarter. We just didn't come ready to play in the 1st.
Well, I'm pretty much convinced that we aren't going to win any championships with this current roster with or without Dream. We just have too many inconsistent players on our roster. One game...they may come to play and do well. The next, you have a bunch of idiots who play like they have never even seen a basketball. Give us a few years and we may have the offense down better but then take away Dream from the equation and were left with Francis and Mobes trying to lead a bunch of winner wannabes who can't even hit layups on a consistent basis. Sure, Rogers and Cato have shown glimpses of greatness but it's still not enough to compete with the better teams. Cato's shots fall more by chance than they do by skill...he has no real post-up offense. His shot blocking is inconsistent...much like his rebounding. Rogers makes things happen with his hustle and I like him better than I like Cato. So, keep Francis, Mobes, Cato, and Rogers. The rest of those guys either need to find some kind of consistent game or we need to trade them for somebody that can play with consistency. And, for God's sake, somebody get rid of Bullard! I would take Mack over Bullard any day of the month! And I don't want to hear about how Anderson is so great on defense. If his offense sucks, then he is a liability out there. He is not a shot blocker or a rebounder. He may get a steal every now and then but that isn't good enough, in my opinion, to earn a starting spot in the rotation. Wiz has a few decent games(I wouldn't even say decent..50% shooting) and he's back! He's back to suck and stink up the place is more like it. We don't have the goods to win a championship...no matter how many years we play together. If we get to the playoffs, look for an early exit every time(if the roster remains the way it is). I'm still a fan and watch every game but I see no real reasons for hope right now. Put a group of any players together, they will develop chemistry as the seasons go by, and they will play better(and even win more games) but they still may not be as good as the top contenders like LA, Portland, and SA without several consistent players in the mix. Oh well....I guess that is how it goes in the NBA. Tough luck. Surfguy
