Its pretty much the long reach of Mutombo plus the deadly elbows vs the power Shaq has. And we are talking just straight up fighting. Assume Mutombo and Shaq are mad enough to want to win the fight.

artest had a chance to fight ben wallace when ben ran after him. aside from lying cross-legged on the scorer's table, the only thing artest did was backpeddle. i'd take madmax

Trust me, when Vernon went into the stands, he got his, and he got suspended for less time than Artest when HE went into the stands swinging wildly some agg little girl. Vernon knew who he was after, and dropped the dude cold. Surgical strike. Plus, no teammates got suspended. All they had to do was keep their mouths shut and not rat him out. Practically the entire Pacer orgainization got suspended - I think Larry Bird just got reinstated recently. Donnie Walsh still applies topical cremes to deal with the hurt of that fight. Artest hurt the organization, VMax kept the fight between him and the fan. Fan down, Rockets win title. So, based on toughness ans smarts, I am going with Vernon.
