I am Indian so I am naturally brown but I like laying out when I am on vacation at beach. But I don't lay out in the back yard or anything. My mom hates when I come back and I am all crispy looking. Indian parents want you to be as light as possible.
I'm naturally tanned but even if I wasn't I've never understood the obsession with it and would never do it. It's just silly

As I am ultra ripped laying out can be hazardous ~ especially if there are members of the sky blue hat brigade roaming about.
I never "lay out" for the purpose of tanning...I just love going to the pool in the summer with a good book and soaking up the warmth for an hour or so, then when I'm good and hot, jumping in the pool and doing a few laps. I NEVER tan, always burn, but after a week or so it turns into a nice tan. Do I think being tan is attractive? Sure. There's nothing wrong with being pasty though. I'm pasty throughout the fall, winter and spring. I get really dark when I swim a lot though.
I don't lay out and tan but I do get tan when I go outside to swim and such. I really need the tan though cuz I'm kinda pale if I don't.
why is it better? for me looks. just my opinion but i much rather have a nice tan. i got a really perfect tan before my prom and i must say ppl noticed. a lot of my friends made comments saying i looked much better. so for me its also a confidence booster now
I don't lay in the sun trying to get a tan. I get bored. If i work outside i might take my shirt off, but that is because i don't want sweat on my clothes.
I had a Melanoma removed 6 years ago and, so I am very cautious when in the sun. I believe that added exposure to those rays advance the skins aging. Some love the way you feel after it, but I'll pass in order to live longer, Thank You.
