No excuse. We were playing the Celtics. We were not playing any good team to need our 2 superstars.

That doesn't excuse their collapse. They gave up 33 points in the 4th quarter. They're not defending consistently anymore.

Yup......I was dying for him to contest that layup when the game was tied....make them earn it at the line...he just got out of the way.....and this was less than a minute after his man Gomes nailed a wide open jumper from 14 feet because Bonzi would not get in his grill.

Ugh.....still without Tmac and Yao this team is crap, but still should have beaten the Celtics.

Just reaffirms what I previously believed: Bonzi Wells is by FAR our best player outside of Tmac and Yao and Tmac is the engine of this team, look at the difference with and without him

And you can probably find 10-15 games that the team probably should have lost... but ended up winning because the other team ended up playing soft/no energy.

    It works both ways.

Ouch, the Celtics poor shooting was really contagious.

I am glad Tmac was off for the night, otherwise that plus the flu would have killed him :D

I hate the fact that this team relies too much on star players

Actually I think the Rockets are entering a point where they get the other team's best shot...

They see the record and hear the talk about them being a darkhorse contender etc...

Add in Tmac and Yao and the other teams will be up for playing the Rocks.....

    Got to match their intensity.

You know anytime IF the Rockets are mentioned during a TNT game, Barkley for sure will bring up the loss to Atlanta and Boston....as well as he should, two pathetic losses....

Several posters keep saying without their top two players most teams would be bad. That is simply not true. Not the elite teams. Take out Nash and Amare and the Suns are still loaded. Take out Dirk and Howard, and the Mavs could still beat most teams in the league. The Spurs without Duncan and Parker, Manu would go for 40 most nights. Without TMac and Yao, well, you just saw a demo.

I'm willing to bet TMac could have played this game if really needed, but I think JVG wanted to see if the team would respond with a hustle game without TMac, it was working until late in the 4th, then their sphincters tightened...
