How do you guys save videos from sites like youtube? I did a google search and found keepvid.com, but I haven't figured gotten it to work properly. When I save a youtube link form there and add the .flv (flash video) extension I don't seem to be getting the right file. Any of y'all use a similar program or anything else? What do you use to convert .flv files to playable on a DVD? Thanks a million.
i know theres a addon for Firefox that gives u the option to save videos from Youtube. I dont remember what its called though, i have it on my firefox at home. maybe u can google that.
bladeage said "theres a addon for Firefox that gives u the option to save videos from Youtube. I dont remember what its called though, i have it on my firefox at home. maybe u can google that." IROC it said "Look up " Ook? " in the firefox extensions." Enron, eh? You shredded the wrong files.
Best solution, all online. http://www.zamzar.com/url/overview.php Watch the vid, that site will get the video, convert from FLV to whatever, and then send you an email with download link.
Vixy allows you to save .flv files as .avi files! It's better than zamzar because you don't need to submit an email address!
Try different formats, man. Start with a shorter video, then work your way up. You have to be patient and wait.
Thanks. I tried the site and downloaded a clip, but now I can't get it to play. I tried Windows Media player, Quicktime, and Real player with no luck. What player do you recommend? Also, if anyone knows, what type of file is able to be burned to a DVD and then played in a regular DVD player? Thanks.
The "Unplug" Firefox extension will allow you to save any video from any site, period. No kidding. It just searches the web page code, finds the video and gives it to you for download. I have yet to find a site it doesn't work on.
I can't play video from some sites using Firefox. In place of the video, the site provides link to download plugins, but the link simply points me to Win media player, Quick time or the likes and I've already have them. I can use IE to play those videos but I normally use Firefox and prefer not having to start IE as well. Please help.
