He was robbed in 2000. With all the recent positive press I am sure he could win now if he ran.

for al gore the man, the 2000 un-election was the best thing that ever happened to him.

he's not ever going back to the hell that is politics.

I think he is the only one who can beat Giuliani. So if he doesn't run, we are looking at more Iraq War

I read on some Oscar night recap that "Al Gore's waistline is expanding as fast as John Travolta's".

    :D

Gore should not run. New blood is needed, not rehashed candidates from days gone by.

Al Gore might get my vote if he ran, but it could be that he does more good not being a candidate.

As a candidate he didn't come across nearly as caring and passionate about issues as he does now. His film brought a lot of attention to global warming and he has done some genuine good.

It is interesting to look at the two main players in the 2000 race. GW Bush is disliked in his own nation, and is considered by many to be the worst president in recent memory if not since the start of the 20th century.

Al Gore on the other hand has been nominated for a Nobel prize and worked hard to bring support and attention to the world wide problem of global warming.

Maybe things happened for a reason, and Gore's real benefit comes in his efforts to help our environment more than from him being President. As much as I like him as non-candidate, he managed to make Kerry seem exciting as a candidate.

What this country needs is Barack Obama. Al Gore's ship has sailed unfortunately. Obama is energetic enough to get things done and push through the bureaucracy in Washington.

Al was going to announce his candidacy on the Oscars but those stupid Hollywood hippies wouldn't let him finish his announcement! What a missed opportunity! =(

That is incorrect. He has said nothing publicly about running for President in 2008.

Energy isn't nearly enough... and depending on what changes are trying to be made, you can either bemoan or celebrate that fact, but it is a fact. On top of energy and focus, you need skill and understanding to get the bureaucracy to do things. I know Gore has the skills. I don't know about Obama.

    Gore is ghey...j/k...

First of all, he wasn't robbed...secondly, just because his movie won an oscar doesn't mean he's politically ready, just means he can bs his way though...oh wait...

But he was going to, but Hollywood wouldn't let him because they love Obama so much, even more than Hilary. Poor Al!

One thing about Obama is that the man is a born leader, and has risen faster up the ranks than any other politician in recent memory. He's put forth some great ideas on Iraq, health care, etc. Right now this country needs someone who can restore our prestige on a global stage -> because we're at a low point right now.

Gore may have the skills, but his heart just isn't in it anymore, in my opinion.

You mean the kind of desperation that comes with getting your asses handed to you in the November elections by the Democrats, losing majority of both houses? You're grasping at straws, brother.
