    I was watching the Channel 13 rodeo parade earlier today and the announcer was introducing certain people on a float and introduced Mario as Gina Gaston's husband Mario Elie!!! I had no idea!!!

    Did you also know they have triplets? And that Mario's signature shot (kiss of death) was a THREE pointer? And Gina Gaston works for Channel 13, which has a THREE in it.

    They live next next door to my friend, on San Felipe near the Kinkaid school.

    btw did the ever catch the people who mugged Elie when he was driving near 59 near Hillcroft many many years ago?

    They met when she was covering the Rockets in the NBA Finals for MSNBC.
    They then got married when he was with the Suns in 2001 and she came back to KTRK.
    I just never knew it...it is never mentioned. I guess I was a little suprised.

    Good for them keeping their lives pretty private. That is rear these days!

    Says on nba.com they were married on september 24, 2000. Elie had 6,265 pts and 574 three pointers for his career.

    MSNBC wasn't around when the Rockets were in the finals. MSNBC started in 1996.

    Gina Gaston was working at channel 13 when they hooked up.

    My bad. I misread her bio on ktrk.com. She covered the Rockets while with 13 and then left in 1999 to go to MSNBC.
