the team has a good chemistry with Rafer and JHo.
Mike James is good bball player, but he is also a cancer in the locker room.

Why is it if it was a good decision, it was CD's decision but when it's a bad decision, it's JVG's decision?

    (just looking at your choices)

cause cd was looking into few scenarios, but according to SI, JVG pulled the plug citing the chemistry.

    And CD agreed.

Besides, if JVG was the one who had the final say, shouldn't he deserve the credit if it was the right (non) move?

It's a staff decision. Lauding CD if it was the right decision while criticizing JVG if it's the wrong one is just silly.

no bashing VG intended, this just seems to me how may view vg, if something good happens, it's not vg, if something bad happens great it's VG.

    so to be more PC
    1)good decision rox
    2)bad decision rox

    100 votes to 12.

That pretty much labels the Alston/James trade as a win for the Rockets from the fans' point of view.

    JVG/Spanoulis to the side...

Really, could you imagine having only Mike James this whole year as our point guard for 37 MPG?

If you can, could you imagine having won nearly as many games?

I agree for one reason. Howard.

I have really not seen much of Kleiza. However, just looking purely at stats from nba.com, howard is playing 10 more minutes than Kleiza a game. I would expect jho to be around 16 minutes as soon as yao comes back.

Year Team G GS MPG FG% 3p% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
    06-07 HOU 50 29 27.1 .473 .000 .850 1.7 4.3 6.0 1.6 0.4 0.1 1.40 2.60 10.0

a bit messy, so sorry, jho's numbers

Year Team G GS MPG FG% 3p% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
    06-07 DEN 49 12 16.0 .400 .329 .816 1.0 2.0 3.0 0.5 0.4 0.1 1.02 2.20 5.5

    Kleiza's numbers

i can see jho having about the same number in the same amount of minutes. however, since jho has been with VG for awhile, knows his system, this is what tips the scale for THIS year.

for those who have seen more of kleiza, what is his best asset?

Did CD go after Kleiza and James to replace Howard and JLIII based on Morey's numbers? I wonder if James and Kleiza's stats are saying Kleiza is the next great roleplayer like Battier and Mike James will be a great addition. Durvasa could enlighten us on what the stats show.

another thing would be the contract issues. rox have been hamstrung far too long with bad contracts. The contract situation this year has been a thing of beauty.

MJ should not be included in our roster. He is such a ball-hog.

I don't think Kleiza has played enough to make any useful assessments based on the stats. Maybe the Rockets have more information than what is publically available, though.

To me, this deal effectively boils down to Howard for James. From a purely basketball standpoint, and not considering "chemistry", I think we should have made that trade. Short term, while Yao is out, having Juwan might be helpful. But looking towards the playoffs, I'd rather have an extra ballhandling guard who can make shots. PFs are more replaceable, in my view. More than any other position, it's the PG spot that will make or break us during the playoffs. There's little point comparing their respective stats, since they play different positions and would have vastly different roles on our team. I'd just rather have what I think Mike James could give than what I expect Juwan will give us.

Incorrect. It is the prospect of trading juwan howard that has people voting this way. If they could have got james for sura and a draft pick, mike james would be a rocket now and would have seen a ton of minutes when yao came back.

    Good decision:
We don't ruin our chemistry and trade proved product for unproved PF + overvalued PG.
MJ isn't that great as people expect. He needs ball to produce the good numbers. He losts his game in a team with one superstar to whom he has to defer. How do you expect he do well in TMac and Yao's Rockets.
He is no more than a mini Stephon Marbury. :)
