http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2775131 The Portland Trail Blazers and Raptors have agreed in principle on a trade sending Juan Dixon to Toronto for Fred Jones in a swap of backup guards, ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher reported. Dixon, 28, in his fifth NBA season, is averaging 8.9 points per game for the Blazers. Jones, also in his fifth year, is averaging 7.6 points
Yeah, I've always liked the idea of him. Top notch athlete that works hard on the defensive side. Weak handle and terrible jumper from what I understand. Haven't heard any knocks (or praise) regarding his attitude or work ethic. Evan
Juan Dixon was so good in college. It's just amazing how many of those guys disappear. I hadn't heard anything about Dixon in a long time until I read this article. I guess I haven't seen the Blazers play much this season.
I love this comment from the ESPN article: "THE TRADE OF THE DECADE. Makes up for Portland passing on Jordan. Gives Toronto the long-term stability they need."
You just described a shorter version of Kirk Snyder, who is currently riding the pine. But yes, if we didn't have T-mac, Bonzi and Kirk, we definately should have taken a look at him
Toronto trades their 3rd string SG Jones for Dixon to be their 3rd string PG behind Calderon. Whoopie!
I can't believe this trade was actually the biggest trade made before the deadline... Good trade for the Raps IMO...they get a better shooter in Dixon
