Pandemic officially announces builds on Xbox 360… PC and PS2. Our in-depth interview tells all.

You may have heard any number of rumors about Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. One of which was its arrival on Xbox 360. But did you hear about the PC and PS2 versions? Truth is, Pandemic has played a sly game of moving shells for some time now. First, EA and Pandemic announced they're jointly publishing the game, and now Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is coming to Xbox 360, PC, and PS2.

What else is going on? To answer all those burning questions, IGN spoke on the phone with Pandemic's Senior Producer Jonathan Zamkoff, former Activision producer who worked on four different Spider-Man games (i.e. all of them). Zamkoff now works at Pandemic Studios and overlooks the development of Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, due this fall (2007) on multiple systems.

Trying to think of what other Western developers/publishers are trying to pretend that their game is PS3-exclusive, but it is obvious that it isn't. We had Assassin's Creed, UT3, and now this.

M2 on PS3 was going to be hard to pass up, I'm glad I wont have to test my will power to buy a PS3 now that it will be on 360..

EDIT

RC, have you heard of when ALone in the Dark will be coming out for 360? A few gaming sites say March 1, but I cant find a release date on any major retailer website..

I think it is still TBA 2007. I doubt it will come out March 1st, or even anytime in the next 30 days or so. We'd have more impressions and specifics if that was the case.

I was actually about to bring up AITD 5 before I noticed your edit. Not sure if you saw this (maybe why you're asking), but CVG had a preview on the game recently. Here's a link:

The preview may be the start of some marketing for the game, implying that it might be close to being completed. At least, that's what I'd like to hope.

Looks really nice considering how much time they still have left in development (just need to work on frame rate IMO). I like the montage showing the various hints about the 360 version (think I mentioned the 360 controllers before though).
