Luke Ridnour lost his starting job to Earl Watson earlier this season and just got back to the starting lineup because Bob Hill wanted Watson to provide a spark off the bench. Luke is one of the better PG's out there and he can be clutch as you can see in the video. He's also a very good shooter. I'm a big Rafer supporter but I can't help but feel discouraged about his play as of late that I think I would be ok if we move him to get another point guard that can create shots and actually make them.
Rafer can not be on court in 4th quarter definitely!!! T-Mac must handle the ball at last 3-4 minutes!!! If Luther is cooled down, let Kirk replace him!!!
It does not matter whether you and I think that we need another point guard, it only matters what Gumby thinks, and right now he said we don't need another point guard. For the record, I'm with you on Ridnour, I always liked his game, he will be an upgrade over Reefer. BTW, when hell freezes over,Spanoulis will play as long as Gumby is here!
There are teams that have other teams number. Example, how does Utah keep beating Suns this season? Mavs has Rockets number and will keep wining until Rockets are at full force. Luther and Ralph had bad games, so did their counterparts on the other team. Rockets lost because in the 4th, when it counted, they froze. TMAC got doubled and no other go to guy. Just imagine for 1 minute what happens if they "zone" with both Yao and TMAC in there. Ya, not going to happen. So relax and enjoy this amazing record so far. Face it, even with Yao on the team, I don't think anyone would be real upset of the record so far. Rockets are playing above their collective head and they will get it handed to them sometimes. A lost is a lost so 3 pts or 21 pts is still a lost. But remember the wins. That will make all of you feel better.
My opinin is that Alston is only good enough for back up Point Guard as he is not good enough and is not a Playmaker Point Guard. Luther Head is NOT a Point Guard and is a poor passer.He should only play his role at back up Shooting Guard. It will be difficult to convince JVG that this is the case.
I know JVG trusts Rafer so much and that having another PG "ain't gonna happen". I've always liked JVG as a coach because he is so dedicated and he is a defensive guru. The only thing I don't like about him is his limited offense and that he can be stubborn at times. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things pan out when Yao comes back. Rafer made it known that he worked real hard on his shot last offseason and it's frustrating to see him miss that much during games.
Someone is asking for too much. Rockets are doing good enough. Rafer, Head, consider how much rockets pay for them. This team is built upon two super stars and a bunch of role players. When Yao gets back, role players just need to perform their "role" as supposed , that is it.
Luther has one bad game and people jump all over him. Fans are so fickle. JVG wanted him to take the last shot, and he did. He just happened to miss. Don't murder him over it. Everyone knew he was having a bad game. JVG was asking way too much from him.

In fact, Avery coached brilliantly, setting 2-3 zones, double, triple teaming, man-on-man, defensive isolations. The Mavs didn't have that premier perimeter stopper to hinder DWade one bit. And to say Phil should have been Coach of the Year EVERY YEAR??? What are you trying to do, suck his nuts? If you want to talk about overrated, Phil Jackson is your man. He only coaches teams with talent, hence Jordan, Pippen, Kobe, Shaq. Oh yeah, when Jordan retired, what did Phil do? And the thing that ticks me off the most about your comments in this thread is your absolute dumbest claims to fire Van Gundy even if he Rockets won the WCC. Name one coach that is not coaching right now that can replace him. Better yet, name one coach right now that is not coaching, period. Van Gundy is loved and respected by his players (except maybe Bonzi, but he's a sore) and has kept the Rockets in the top 4-5 spots of the West (THE WEST!) despite missing Yao, who I bet you idolize. Tell me what Yao would think if his coach who supported him from the start is fired. Next time, before you post again with stupid comments, get an education, watch some basketball, and stop looking at risque photos of Phil Jackson. Peace.
I think the OP just doesn't really understand basketball strategy too well. He seems to not realize how big of an effect coaching/game planning can have.
Rafer doesn't create shots, he forces them. Also, his APG is fairly decent, but he doesn't make "great passses" most of the time... a lot of cheap assists. He also turns the ball over too much trying to be fancy or forcing a pass.
I really don't understand what in the world is a "cheap assist", just like I don't know what is a "dominant 26 point". This is as ridiculous as the Barkeley comment. An assist is an assist, it leads to 2 points or 3 by a teammate and that's it. It doesnt matter if it is just dumping the ball into the post and let Juwan hit a boring jumper, or a no-look-360-spin-behind-the-back pass to Tmac for a highlight fast break dunk. As long as he is having the assists, it means that he is distributing and hitting people in the right spot at the right time, and that's what a pg is supposed to do.
