1) Large number? Like what? This actually happens? When does said straight guy" figure it out? When they're in bed? Dude, I have never, ever seen this. Please please tell me. Are there men stupid enough to go for it? Are there gay men who think they actually look like women? 2) There really is no number 2, I am still on #1. Has this ever happened to you? There is a story here, and I need to hear it.
Look, everybody has a story or two from when they were in Thailand. The difference is just that Fatty's the guy in those stories.
There was a story on dateline a few months ago dealing with someone being murdered for this exact thing. Also, if you are gay and you like men, what would be the reason to dress up as a woman and go out to find someone who also likes a man? I feel like this is where people truly get angry.
If you want to insult me, at least avoid banal, child-like sputtering gaffes. Insult me with a capricious panache, perhaps with a carefully crafted entendre....but the "stupid" slur only labels you.
One time I told a girl that I really liked her photography, that I was sick of goofing around with my life and truly wanted a stable/long-lasting relationship, that she didn't need to take that crap from her boss, and that she shouldn't keep putting herself down like that because she was a special, special person that was unlike anyone else. I did it just so I could have a chance at having sexual relations with her. I've done that with a lot of girls. It rarely works, but I've done it a lot. A lot of guys I know do it. There really isn't an excuse for heterosexual men, IMO. They shouldn't be in the world or in the United States.
Good call. From now on, things I do not like are deemed "things that shouldn't be in the world or in the United States," that is a totally classic line. Things That Should Not Be In The World Or In The United States: 1. Margarine 2. Local News Broadcasts 3. Internet Explorer 4. Crunch Fitness Centers 5. Soilicitation Phone Calls 6. Hockey 7. Sweetened Iced Tea
Any reason you haven't replied? Always liked you dude, but your last post towards me was a bit uncalled for.
Plus there was that guy who posed in playboy. We're in a weird world. If you're gay, be gay. Just be yourself. Don't try to change yourself just so you can bring heteros into the mix, IMO. EDIT: ( and just so y'all know the story, a few guys and I did this chick on several occasions in the early 90's. An absolutely gorgeous stripper. And we all compared notes after a couple months. We couldn't guarantee anything, but she had very "manly" qualities in the bedroom. And, no, there was a vagina, but we'd heard about the post op thing, as well. We all decided to bail her quickly when we all talked, and many of my old friends know this.
Fatty, while there are some homosexual transvestites who also like to try to have sex with straight men its not like they are representative of all or most homosexual men. For that matter I've heard that ladyboys in Thailand are a huge draw and apparently there is a market for straight men who like to fool around with very feminine transvestites so it goes both ways.
To-tally. You're talking to someone who has spent half their life asking asking waiters/drive-thru guys if the iced tea was laced with pure corn syrup or not. The damn drink is supposed to be refreshing, not a sugar-bomb to dehydrate you further.
In all seriousness, you're essentially bringing up a straight guy/kid who takes part in a circle jerk at camp or gives another frat boy a handjob and saying, "if you're straight, be straight, it's cool -- but don't tease other gay dudes into thinking you're bi or gay." It's a one in a million thing, and especially laughable for those of us that have been around hundreds, thousands of gay people over the years. That's probably why CBrown doesn't want to respond. He doesn't know where to start.
Okay. Fatty - I am so sorry if the post hurt your feelings. It was not meant that way. I apologize if it seemed mocking. Here is what I meant. To me, most gay people want the same things most people want - security, love, comfort, peace, professional success, whatever. As someone who, as I said earlier in the post, lives in the heart of the Castro district of San Francisco, I have personally seen zero gay men dressing up like women to seduce unsuspecting heterosexual men. I typically find them at work, in stores, on the bus, etc. I think that the percentage of gay men dressing up as women to seduce straight men is very very small. I have no data other than my anecdotal experience. But, my anecdotal experience with the gay community is pretty extensive. Not because my wife is secretly a dude in disguise, just because I live here. But I suppose there is no way to be totally sure. Those disguises are pretty good these days. My other point is, I feel like "gay" (a population which is pretty much like the rest of us, the only difference being cheesy musical taste and emotional attraction to the same sex...) gets lumped in with "totally deviant and perverted" remarkably easily, and that is deserves to be called out for what it is - a fear thing, fiendish victimization scenarios created in the eye of the beholder. It's like a heebie-jeebies thing, and I am not predisposed to deny someone full civil and legal rights because some people get the heebie jeebies. I am not saying YOU want to deny anyone anything - but your post made me astonished, because if the tiny "dress up like chicks to get some c***" demographic is souring us on the fairly large and fully functional "gay" demographic - that's really not the gay community's fault. Its sort of like saying "I would be okay with straight relationships if not for all these damn molesting uncles" except, my personal belief is, there are alot more molesting uncles per standard heterosexual that there are female imposters looking to fool straight men per regular gay dude. If you have experienced this problem, the one where gay dudes dressed as women are souring you on the gay population, my first thought is what the hell kind of places are hanging out? Does this happen at the Galleria? It just seems like so many standard deviations away from the gay mean, it's negligible to me. I could be wrong, like I said, this is purely anecdotal. But I've hung out at alot of bars and seen this precisely zero times. Sorry to offend, I was not intentionally calling you out, it was a good example of something i think is actually a large problem - the heterosexual community's fetishing and overgeneralizing gay life into some weird perversion.
Great post. I brought up the same thing earlier in the thread that many people lump homosexuality in with things like pedophilia and bestiality which is undeserved since there is no more connection between those behaviors and homosexuality than there is between those behaviors and heterosexuality. The majority of humans aren't homosexuals but that doesn't mean that a majority of homosexuals are prone to engage in things like transvestism to lure unsuspecting straight males.
