Anybody who believes that Yao coming back...and my finger points at the national sportswriter wannabes...will stir chemistry and be difficult to implement into the new system....listen to what Tmac says when asked "will Yao coming back be a difficult adjustment?"..."no not at all"...he said it's only going to get that much easier with a big guy you can rely on night in night out. A lot of people talk about maybe needing that one trade to put us over the top... the scary thing might be, we were already there and we just needed time to actualize that potentiality... Yao turns a solid, TOP 5 squad in the NBA, into powerhouse ball club... up the ranks with the likes of the Suns and Mavs and battling now only for home court... the rest of the season... that 3rd spot is ours...and I say we take it. -V
We're not going to be as good as the Suns or Mavs if we dont either upgrade at PG or PF IMO. We are just too "top heavy" of a team even when Yao comes back. This is also making the strong assumption that Yao will be as dominant in the playoffs as he was before the injury. Sorry not trying to rain on your parade.
We will have an upgrade at PF when Yao is back. JH and Chuck will play fewer minutes at the 5 and more at the 4 and there should be minutes for big jake in there. Better rested big men playing at their natural positions is an upgrade.
If you think we are going to make a trade for Bibby...we aren't...we are not going to trade for anyone who will displace Rafer... nor will we be able to trade for anyone who works as well in our system as he does... SF3, if he gets bought out would be a good pick up...other than that we can only hope for a solid back up pg at best... and did you watch the last game between the Rocks and Mavs...it was down to the wire...let me ask you a question...could Mavs keep it a close game with Dirk if we had Yao playing like he did at the beginning of the season and Tmac clicking like he does now...definitely we are up there with the Mavs....and we also kept it close with the Suns without Tmac or Yao... Can they keep it close without Nash and Marion? Do you discount our stars so much that you can't see the impact Yao will have coming back? Yes a trade could potentially help us but we don't need one to be up there. Don't apologize, you're not raining on anyone's parade... I just hope to see you at one this summer. -V
