Thought I would give you a diversion from the Pippen bashing, to pile on Charlie Rosen, that hatah of all things Rockets:

    Each team's second-half prospects

Barring any major trades, here's what each team's prospects are as the season nears the clubhouse turn:

    . . . .

HOUSTON — Even if his fractured leg is eventually declared to be medically sound, Yao Ming will never be in playoff shape come April 21. Indeed, even when he was healthy, his physical conditioning was always a worry. Tracy McGrady has become almost exclusively a perimeter player. Rafer Alston overhandles and overshoots. And, aside from Yao, Shane Battier is the only adult on the roster. Credit Jeff Van Gundy for keeping the Rockets flying without Yao, but the team will undoubtedly crash in the opening series of the playoffs.

Yao does NOT = Bonzi. It won't take Yao freak'n 50 games to get in shape. It will take Yao about 10 games after he comes back to be in shape. He hasn't been slacking this whole time that he's been out. He's been doing upper body strength and conditioning up intil recently where he's been cleared to run. Given Yao's proven diligence, he will not be that out of shape.

How many games took him to get in shape after toe infection last year? 3 or 4?

How many games took him to get in shape afer the toe fracture last summer? 5 (warm up games)?

Our first round game will probably be against the Spurs, possibly with the Spurs having home court advantage. 1st round dismissal aint out of the question.

these kind of articles writing the rockets off are good for the team.

The more Rockets "Hatas" there are, the better it will feel when the Rox are on their road to the championship.

Took him a month to get his first 30 pt game- 38 pts against the Wizards. Took him 2 games to get into the 20s.

In regards to Yao's layoff, doesn't it help him in some respect? You'd figure he could use a breather every once in a while. Doesn't he basically play constantly due to his commitments to the Chinese National team, etc?
