ppl say lakers are the team cuz of the media attention they get and thats THE only reason besides that they SUCK ass!!! who's dumb out there to say lakers are better than rockets?!

This really doesn't make any sense. First of all, as tight as the playoff race is now (at least the race for home court advantage) JVG couldn't really afford to "cost us a few games." Personally, I'd like to have homecourt advantage in the first round (knock on wood) over developing V-Span more. I'm sorry, there is no way V-Span playing more this year would've been the difference between an early exit and a deep playoff run. Again, V-Span may be good in the future, he has potential and heart...but he is not and never was our answer for backup point guard this year. No one will look back at this year and go, "You know Yao and Tracy were great, but if they could've just gotten that greek kid the ball more they would've been champions"

Well at least Tracy McGrady does not agree that Yao Ming will be the X Factor !!

This is what he said at an interview with Zhang Yi of Sohu Sports shortly after the Rockets' first team practice after the All Stars Weekend.

In summary

The Houston Rockets had great results prior to the All Stars break. Now, the second half (remaining 30 games) of the season will start soon. When asked about the Rockets' playoff prospect, TMAC said: "Well, I think the Rockets had basically locked in a playoff spot. Yes, we can discuss about our playoff prospect now. Our playoff prospect ? Well I mean currently we are favorably positioned, and we should fight for home court advantage. This is our prospect."

Yao Ming will return to court soon. There had been talks about Yao Ming will become the "secret weapon" (i.e. the X Factor) of the Rockets; after all he had been sidelined with injury for almost 2 months now. On this, Tracy McGrady said: "I seriously doubt it. I seriously doubt it. I don't believe our opponents have forgotten how dominating Yao Ming was (prior to his injury). His returning to court will bring us more confidence, and simultaneously, he will provide us more offensive ammunition. When he returns, everyone will be able to see how good a team the Rockets is."

The presence of Yao Ming on court will take off alot of pressure from TMAC. The Rockets #1 is absolutely clear about this point. "Actually it is very simple to stick to playing an inside-out game. This (big) fella will provide us interior dominance/superiority every night, (he will) grab the rebounds, and make our life so much more easier." TMAC said. "He is now up and running and doing great (in the team practice). Just wish he can return sooner than we now anticipate."
